Of course, the logic here is true. Planned parenthood prevents way more unwanted pregnancies than it ends. It also makes sure that those that don't choose abortion get proper prenatal care. Is there any private agency that does more useful work for the poor in this country? Certainly they are in the top ten.

However, we must remember that the "pro-life" movement in this country is realy just a religious movement. The main goal of these zealots is to get everyone to live by their moral code and world view, no matter what. Many of these people would force the victims of rape and incest and even those for whom pregnancy risks their life to carry the baby to full term. They don't really care about the women or the babies. The fact that most of these right wingers are for the death penalty should tell you a lot.

You can't use logic when you argue with someone about religion.

This is really the heart of the matter: the refusal to understand what it is that Planned Parenthood actually does. The religious have it in their minds that this is an evil organization. They have closed their minds to the possibility that the rights of women to have proper care and the ability to choose when and how they reproduce are none of their business. And this is dangerous, because often, reasonable people who favor protecting these things don't stand up to the shrill, autocratic voices of the so-called pro-life movement.

Agreed! It's interesting that PP provides help for new mothers, but many of these pro-lifers who seem to care so much about the babies demonize single mothers and won't lift a finger to help them or the children. They're pro-life prior to birth but not after. They really don't care about the mothers or babies, just about upholding their moral code.
