Chris, you wouldn't have had to hold your breath for very long. Here's one:

Hilarious!

You cannot on one hand claim to be in charge of the world, the only superpower [USA, USA, USA!! all the time] and then turn right around on the other hand whine when people tend to blame you for their problems, STUPID.

The war on terror is NOT American, its BUSHITE...its stupid, it is bankrupting us, because it is eternal war on something that cannot be won...just ask Tim McVeigh who blew up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City...you cannot stop insane people from becoming zealots, certainly not without a massive investment in human HEALTH and WELFARE, which you Cons are dead agasint.

THe way you twist yourselves and reality into knots, however, I must say I find amusing as hell.

candoxx is President of the BAF group. She is also lacking in medication.

Both Deepak Chopra and candoxx are misguided. What Mumbai actually shows is that you don't need to be American or Israeli or Christian or Jewish to be a target for the wrath of Islamic terrorists. This is not an isolated McVeigh incident but rather a pattern of incidents demonstrating radical Islam's contempt for the rest of the world, even against fellow Muslims.

So. What would you have done in answer to 9-11? Just "shine it on"?

Even as a distant observer, I know India has been a friend of America's for a long time and that we've more or less had to pay for Pakistan's cooperation. There are a lot of Islamic fundamentalist supporters there.

Blaming America is easy. Even Americans do it. (yawn)

Finding solutions is more challenging as a rule, but come on, being against terrorists is a no-brainer.

Where's the problem here? Killers force you to kill them to stop their killing. Does anyone think that the attacks in India were okay? The best thing for our side in the war against terror is the behavior of the terrorists themselves.

Is there anyone left they haven't angered yet?

Point: If you want to get me on your side, don't slap me to get my attention. If you do, nothing you say is going to be able to erase that.

Duhh.

On the other hand...

Nice piece Mr. Hitchens. I may not always agree with you, but your writing is always a relief in it's thoroughness.

How did the "slap" work for you, by the way. Kicking dirt at the God Squad was certainly "Jackson-ish". Did it work? How were the sales on that book?

Your boldness amused many of us quietly watching from the sidelines. As a rule, I do okay with the God Squad, but know that getting them "riled up" has a wild cat quality to it.

Here we go again...where is the headquarters of such an entity, can we bomb them?

Now that your "strategy" has been employed, it seems you have pushed the Afgani people into the welcome arms of the Taliban, becasue they hate you more than they hate them.

Nice set of choices you've provided for ordinary, hard working people.

You make me puke, you are so stupid.

I'm glad I make you puke, but it has nothing to do with my intelligence level but rather your inability to make a reasonable argument.

Speaking of puke, that is all that candoxx has done on this site with all of her nonsense conspiracy theories.

I guess candoxx went off her meds again.

So much for sparkling intellectual discourse. (sigh)

I'll ask again, what would you have done in response to a terrorist attack? Just allow them to scatter to the wind and forget about it? You obviously didn't lose anyone that day.

How about more anger at someone that kills the cub of the tiger, then runs home while the Tiger is chasing them? (the metaphor describe Osama - who provokes the anger of the U.S. - then runs to where he claims he cares about people)
