Reforming college football fits into a political paradigm

nicely. The BCS pretends to be one thing (a rational way to decide #1, i.e., serve the citizens), is actually something else (reward the rich/popular/storied programs, aka, the power brokers) and it doesn't work very well. Heck, anyone who runs for president ought to be required to run the BCS first to see if he/she is qualified for the Oval Office.
