Interracial marriage and gay marriage have a lot more in common then this article states.

Consider that it is fear of the "other." In the past other races were once viewed as almost a different species rather then just different color to many people. People felt it was okay and even "right" to discriminate to avoid having cross breeding with "inferiors."

This was ridiculous of course but is it all that different then the arguments against same sex marriage? Gays are viewed as being very different then us "normal" people and for some allowing gays to marry is viewed as a threat to their marriage.

This is a simple matter of equal rights and allowing everyone the opportunity to marry the person that they love regardless of race or gender. Denying this rights is bigotry, pure and simple.

The other way interacial marriage and gay marriage is similar is that those wishing to prevent BOTH are NOT impacted (injured) in any way by the actions of the group they hate.

In other words, a white person is NOT forced to marry someone from another race and when there was such a marriage there was NO impact to the racist white person's own life.

WELL EXPECT, with their 'it is the children' lie. YES, their white baby girl could marry one of those nigers and that would DESTROY the racist but that isn't a legit reason to be a bigot.

Same with same-sex-marriage. As the joke goes, the only persons harmed from same-sex marriage being legal are those people that get married!

I agree that denying this right is bigotry so it is OK to say that most Mormons and many Catholics and blacks are bigots? I say YES. Blacks in CA are bigots by a 2 to 1 margin!
