This is precisely what happened to Bill Clinton. He nominated Louis Freeh to head the FBI and Freeh spent 8 years pissing on Clinton, and ultimately pissed on all of us as he wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on useless investigations that never amounted to anything, all while letting the FBI deteriorate badly. I never understood the whole "keep your enemies close" thing. Why, so they can poison you?
