If Obama takes a fall?
by Bigsky007
The question should be what if McCain takes a fall? And if he does, then let's reflect upon the following:

Approximately twenty-five years ago the Democrats placed a woman on its presidential ticket and twenty-five years ago apartheid South Africa changed its stark and evil features. Today, twenty-five years later, the GOP primary debates, conventions and rallies look like South Africa’s twenty-five years ago. South Africa changed. What’s wrong with the GOP, this being the eighth year into the new century? Richard Nixon changed the GOP into an embarrassing anachronism, which can't be explained to our foreign friends. As it exists today, it is the perfect recruiting tool for our enemies because the stark, anti-democratic, picture it presents doesn't reflect this country, its touted values or its tenets. For example, starting with Nixon, virtually all the third world thuggish political activities (dirty tricks) have had their origin in the GOP and its sympathizers. There is little within the GOP that an enlightened person would find inviting. The key here is: Enlightened!!

Hi Big Sky:

I lived in Livingston Mt a few years ago and I've been to Missoula Mt. Montana is a bit bi-polar but I think the neo-cons have even destroyed their chances in that typically repulican state.

So Dems and Geraldine Ferraro ended apartheid. Jesus you have got to be kidding me. But you raise an interesting point concerning why GOP rallies and conventions skew older and more boring than the hip, with it Dem convention. I always comment on this to my wife and here is my answer.

I am 45 years old. Until I was 35 or so I was a liberal democrat. What changed? Basically life experience. I have grown to learn that becoming a conservative is a process. Libs react to feelings and emotion. Conservatism is driven by facts and emprical evidence of what works and what does not. This takes time and, frankly maturity, to develop. Many people who now see themselves as GOP/CONs would tell you the same thing. That their life experience and maturation process led them away from liberalism. The other factor is whether you are self employed which I am. Obama is going to kill small business but you may not know that unless you own a small business. Most people who own a business tend to be older folks.

As for your critique of the GOP, it is not our tenets or ideas that failed but our failure to follow our tenets and ideas. Instead, we have spent the last years spending like libs.

I don ot know how old you are. But I may have written the same post you did when I was 22. I surely would have supported Obama then but could never do so now.
