The trouble with "mavericks.."
by progressivebulldog
is that they won't go along with the plan unless it's their plan. If Palin truly is a "maverick" then how can she be expected to toe the line for McCain. I think she knows he's toast and is beuilding her future at his expense.

Or she's exactly as ill-informed as she appears to be.

That's at least as likely.

Building for her own future and being ill-informed are not mutually exclusive.

They are both independent-minded. Palin is obviously given scripts to read, otherwise she wouldn't contradict herself so much. She's on record in Alaska saying she admired Obama's change mantra, and his energy policy. Now Obama's a supposed socialist and friend of terrorists. She publically stated, in that bar, that she supports targeted raids into Pakistan, yet-- only yesterday-- she condemned the same statements coming from Obama.

When she is allowed to speak frankly, she expresses her own opinions. The campaign is stifling her.

When she expresses her own opinions, she displays her ignorance in especially glaring terms (such as saying that the VP runs the Senate). The depths of her ignorance know no bounds.
