I saw the movie with my 12 y-o son

The one thing we both got out of it is that actions require consequences. While W's drinking and carrying-on didn't result in him getting fined, tossed in jail, etc., when he did achieve he didn't (literally) get the pat on the back either. Whatever W did was meaningless to him, whether it be crash the car into the front door or get elected to positions of incredible power and status.

I am an admirer of his father while in office - he had a true appreciation of the world and the levers of power. His part in the bloodless reunification of Germany was commendable. The son's policies have been basically taking the last sixty years of alliances and diplomacy and flushing them down the toilet.

In terms of the movie, I do wish it would have gone a little more into detail of the Bushes' political campaigns (I was hoping to see more about 41 v Clinton and 43 v Gore) as well as the (lack of) diplomacy with the EU.

Think of all the billions of dollars we spent on the Cold War, keeping America from being attacked by its enemies. And then Bush comes along, gets warned about 9/11, lets it happen and a few guys with boxcutters successfully attack NYC and the military headquarters of the United States of America.

He flushed a lot of things down that toilet.
