Without reading that list, I was not surprised. Hatred is stirred when one is presented as an "outsider", "different", "that one". When Palin claimed Obama was "pallin' around with terrorists" it became a given the unbalanced would respond.

The same tactic was used to incite the murder of abortion doctors and the bombing of clinics using "baby killers" and graphic pictures. While they can say they didn't directly send their minions out to do violence, they are still responsible.
