Dow fell more than 100 today, guys.
by Nick_Danger

You have to wait for the bell.

Last five minutes, everybody tried to make up for the week and sold.

What's funny?
by Nick_Danger
That's what happened.
Ummm, the market DROPPED all week
by ErictheRight

How do you make up for that by selling off? That seems mighty senseless.

Re: What's funny?

You're funny. Please, re-read your post while looking at this weeks day by day results.
It was rising all afternoon and looked like
by Nick_Danger

it would close high.

It dropped between 3:55 and 4:00.

Between the start and the finish was a day in which the Dow Jones industrial average swung 1,000 points and a wild final hour in which the market moved from almost 400 points down to 300 points higher, only to close down 126.96 points or 1.4 percent. <link>

Hope he's not too heavily invested. He wouldn't make it a day on the street.
Re-read it yourself, Dingbat
by Nick_Danger

At 4:55 it was up about 50 points, as several posters below noted.

When the bell rang, it was down 100.

Duh.

No, I'm not, I wouldn't and neither
by Nick_Danger

would you, you pretentious nitwit.

The best economic minds in the world are not "making a day on the street" these days, you clown.

Nevertheless, the market did tumble in the last five minutes of the trading day after rising in the late afternoon.

Jeesh.

Roflmao...again!
by Dangnabit
Yes, and that helped them make up for the week!
Yes, Dingbat
by ErictheRight

So the question is: are these wheeler-dealers making big bucks and selling high, or are they bailing out following any positive signs?

You know people DO try to buy low and sell high. Are these folks showing marketing skill?

Who said anything about the week?
by Nick_Danger

I was referring to the posters below who were saying the market looked like it was going to close up today for a change.

I said the market was down.
by Nick_Danger

which means the majority lost money. That's why its called the Dow Jones "AVERAGE", nit wit.

The majority ATTEMPTED to sell high at the last minute. They failed and lost money.

So no, they were not showing "marketing skill", nor are you.
