How has Bush changed the security of the ports system since 9/11? Explain how it is still (in your eyes) deficient

Asked before, but you ran off.

I am not on here on a consistent basis, sorry.

Bush has done a lousy job on port security. He wanted to let Dubai Ports World run some of our ports. He isn't getting all incoming cargo inspected. There are "security" locks you could cut through with no problem. The security of the port system has been breached over and over by people testing it for investigative reports.

That doesn't even go far enough. Border security is in ludicrous shape.

We shouldn't have international or foreign companies running our ports. Shipping to them and through them, but not running them. It isn't safe, just as it isn't safe to rely on other countries' intelligence services alone for information. We need our own people on the ground getting intelligence and guarding the security of our ports.
As I suspected...

if your idea of security is "getting ALL incoming cargo inspected", then you don't really "get it" at all. That's sure-fire proof you don't.

NO ONE is calling for 100% cargo inspections, nor is it feasible. That is moronic.

He's actually done a great job on port security, and the system is imporved by over 100%. We've more than doubled the amount of cargo inspected, and employed new systems to insure tracking and security.

You DON'T understand what the Dubai ports deal was about.

And you should provide a link to the "easily cut through" security locks story you told. It might be the only thing you were right about, if you only had the info to back it up.

The "easily cut through" locks aren't a story. They were documented and shown in the MSM and are there for anyone who goes to a port to see.

I do understand the Dubai Ports deal. I don't agree with it. We need to handle our own ports. The fact that we weren't paying attention and made other contracts we shouldn't have doesn't change that.

We could very well inspect all cargo if we brought home personnel to do it instead of having them half a world away fighting in Iraq where they shouldn't be and still dealing with Afghanistan, which should have been rebuilt and stabilized with a retooled economy long ago.

We'll NEVER search all cargo...
by ErictheRight

It's impractical, unfeasible, unnecessary, and not recommended. When we receive a shipment of Hondas from Japan, the shipment is not inspected. Japan is an ally and we have controls that ensure security on the other end. There's no need to inspect that cargo coming in. We simply won't do it.

And you think the National Guard or military will inspect cargo? That idea is idiotic.

Lastly, I've Googled and can't find ANYTHING about locks in our ports being cut through as a security breach. perhaps you dreamt it?

You really really DON'T "get it" at all. And I knew as much, because you're consistently dishonest here.
