We might, MIGHT get a drunkard's expose on the real Barack Obama from Christopher Hitchens but from John Dickerson, from Shaffer, from the XX-Factor writers? No way in hell! Slate is so in the tank for Obama that it's obscene.

Ditto most of the rest of the mainstream media. As I wrote the last time to you Dickerson, we all know that you are perfectly aware of how much Obama has lied in his memoirs and in his public on-record statements concerning his close business relationships and ties to extremists and their groups . . . but the members of the pro-Obama press ignore the truth to continue campaigning for Obama and you wonder WHY people are getting mad as hell?

The nation is in danger and the national press corps is doing it's best to provide political cover for an extremist leftwing radical, AND you are laughing about it?

Have you studied history and some of the other times when people in your privileged position laughed at and mocked the angry citizenry? Perhaps you'd better begin studying up and considering just how important it is for you personally to continuing pissing on the concepts of honesty and integrity and ethics in order to pimp for Obama's campaign.

We are visibly sliding into an economic depression and you are laughing at a demographic known to have a snapping point and known to do violent things when their rage finally overtakes them? Are you living in a fucking dream world? You think you WON'T get a brick flung against your head because from your perspective you aren't really involved in these campaign rally's where so many enraged people are congregating?

Have you ever been in harm's way in your life? You'd better wake up and begin taking this stuff seriously.

I have long wondered when the nation as a whole is finally going to get enough of the hyper partisan political bias that the national press corps usually engages in during presidential contests in this modern age. We may be beginning to see that snapping point approaching.

Maybe and maybe not. But don't say that nobody ever thought enough of you to give you a heads up warning that you are in very dangerous territory indeed. I suggest that you study up on the concept of honesty and integrity and ethics that old fashioned journalists once had a use for and begin applying those elements to your political pieces regardless of Slate's bias for Obama. That or else respectfully decline continued field trips to McCain rallys until after the election.

Learn how to take this stuff seriously and learn how to be afraid before it's too late. Let some other brainless journalist and tool of the Obama campaign go on those bus rides. I think I'd honestly miss you if you were to end up in the hospital because some McCain supporter could no longer find enough emotional release in just yelling in rage.

The truly funny thing is that we can't recognize character as the central issue. But flawed character is present in both governmental types, like our "beloved" former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, as well as the goons and selfish loons on wall street.

It is easy to characterize every McCain supporter as an ignorant raving hick, but that simply reveals the media bias - the underlying current of bicoastal celebrity worship and pseudo-intellectual fawning that is staring us all in the face each day. Once this guy wins (since you have decided he MUST win at all costs) what are you planning to do when those of us who are already supporting everyone else decide it just isn't worth it anymore? Why should my husband continue to work 14-16 hour days running a successful business if making more than $250,000 means we are enemies of the state? Those at the upper 10% of the income tax bracket pay 70% of the taxes to benefit everyone. Why should I encourage my son to compete against all the Pakistanis, Indians, and Chinese we allow into our undergraduate institutions if after 12 years of graduate study in medicine it will all be nationalized. Why bother?

This is a very real pivotal time in this nation and it's nothing to giggle about. These are the times when citizens do react in rage and that rage turns into violence. My warning to John Dickerson was both real and legitimate in nature and was coming from somebody that has learned to like his articles regardless of his known political biases. I don't want to see him get hurt on one of these trips but that's precisely what is building up to happen somewhere in America to some journalists.

2) Am I reading your post right?? You are threatening to quit your jobs because you'll be taxed more? You're threatening to discourage your children to do well? WHY should we care if you give up because Obama's tax plan calls for a single-percentage tax hike on people earning $250k+? If you're going to give up because you don't like the guy who's going to be president, you probably weren't going to get there anyway. People with higher incomes are not going to pay more in taxes because they are the enemy, they are going to pay them because it's the price of living in a civilized country that provides the structure to be so successful.

As a medical professional, I would suggest you encourage your son to go through all the years of medical training only if he likes using his hard-earned knowledge to help people, not to make money. If you think he would be better served making money, I would suggest an undergrad degree in psychology and two years in an MBA program. Oh, wait, that doesn't seem to work out so well anymore...
