It is fascinating that neither Obama nor McCain is talking about Israel. Everyone knows that Israel has no choice but to take out Iran's nuclear facilities before the election. Why? Because if Obama wins, then Israel's fate lies in the UN.

A week ago or so, Israel asked the US for permission to fly over Iraq. The US denied that permission. The US press poo-pooed the matter. There should be nothing less than a public outcry over that decision.

So Isreal should gamble on the sanity of Iranian leadership? Lets look at this logically. If Isreal allows Iran to get nuclear weapons assuming Iran will not use them and Iran wipes them off the map, then Isreal can tell Screwjack I told you so. Meanwhile, no Isreal. If Isreal bombs Iran's nuclear facilities they might kill some Iranians and get some bad publicity. If you are Isreal, what is the best of these two choices. Kind of a no brainer wouldn't you say.

No I wouldn't say it is a no-brainer. Are you saying Israel is happy with its place in the Middle East and the world? If Israel continues to be an aggressor then it should not complain as its once near-universal global support dries up. And it should not complain if it is attacked back. Syria was bombed by Israel and thus Israel can have no complaint if Syria attacks back. Same for Iran.

Does Israel live up to the same standards and nuclear inspections that Iran is asked to submit to? Hah. They are nuclear hypocrites and really have no grounds for argument.
