Wow! the obama camp is desperate.

How the hell do you draw any type of equivalance with a journalist or talk show host who brings a variety of people on his show to grill as ...

somehow the same as ....

Barack Obama was serving on 3 boards with Ayers, being hand picked to distribute 100 million plus by Ayers, starting his political career in the house of Ayers, getting an internship at the lawfirm that Dohrn worked at because Ayers asked them to give it to him, meeting Michelle Obama as a result of being at that lawfirm and Dohrn getting Michelle hired there, and potentially having had Ayers ghost write "Dreams of My Father". !!!

There is so much history between Ayers and Obama you could write a novel about it alone.

What is this “guild by association” crap they are peddling?

What is this crap that he suddenly didn't read newspapers and didnt know anything about Ayers background history?.

Barack Obama may have been 8 when the bombs were set,

But..................

Barack Obama was in his 20s when the Weather Underground was finally wrapping up in courts in Chicago and it was all over the news.

Barack Obama was in his 30s when he accepted the invitation to work on those boards with Ayers.

Barack Obama was in his 30s when he was running around endorsing Ayers book on schools and education.

Barack Obama was in his 30s when he started his political career with his coming out party in Ayers living room.

If thats not association then I have a hell of a lot guilt to drop off at the nearest guilt orphanage.

The Obama campaign lying through their teeth like the jerks they are as they steal their way ever closer to the White House.

These people are just grotesque liars and panderers and frankly, America, if you let these asses take over this country you deserve to lose your liberties.

I want Sarah to bring up the fact that MO and BO both worked with Dohrn at Sidley & Austin.

And there are no secrets in a law firm or any office where people are constantly interfacing with each other for years.

MO and BO both knew about Ayers and Dohrn at the very least when Mo went to work with Dohrn.

And I believe it was even long before that.

Back in 1981, when Ayers was completing his PHd at a university in New York City two blocks from Columbia University, and Barack Obama was at Columbia during those same years, so he and Ayers probably met because they were both members in the political socialist parties of that time.

You know what would be great? If Jet Jockey John McCain
by MichaelRyerson
could get Obama in room so he could confront him with these stories! You know some place where there would be, like, witnesses, maybe even, if we could get lucky some cameras and maybe a microphone so we could all see and hear what happened...yeah that would be fucking cool, you know just get up in his face and see what happens. Oh wait.
Obama's lies keep getting bigger
by Kazillions

When you get caught telling a lie you have two choices: fess up and apologize, or lie more.

When Hillary called him on his deep ties with Ayers Obama pointed out that it was Bill Clinton who pardoned some of the terrorist weathermen. Nice dodge, but that was Hillary.

When Republicans bring it up, because God knows the media won't voluntarily report on anything negative about Obama, we heard that Ayers was "just some guy in the neighborhood."

That's a lie. It's not even a misdirection. It's growing more and more obvious every day to many people that Obama is simply a downright liar. This is not going to go away. It's going to get bigger and bigger as Obama's lies and obfuscations get more elaborate and more defensive.

As more and more of Obama's surrogates play the race card in such an unfounded and comical way, one wonders how long he'll be able to resist doing the same.

Guilt by Association
by artandsoul
And also have you heard????

As soon as they lock up Obama on these charges they are ready to put all Catholics in jail for pedophilia because by association they sat in church for MILLENNIA listening to the various priests who were abusing children. MILLIONS of Catholics will be imprisoned!! FINALLY! Thank God!! I"m going to feel so much safer when that happens!!

Oh, and the entire Republican Senate Caucus will be censured as well because, didn't you hear?? They all hung around for SIX YEARS with Mark Foley who was soliciting various nefarious em....things...with the underage boy pages in Congress! And all of those Senators just caucusing and meeting and carousing with him. Hell, they were CLOSE, CLOSE I tell ya!!! So, I'm really relieved that THAT will be happening real soon!!!

Oh and after that, and I have this on the highest authority Leslie Nielson will be jailed in Las Vegas with OJ - FOR LIFE!!!!! Yes indeed. That horrible man, he KNEW OJ!! KNEW HIM I say - really knew him (not in the biblical sense) but knew him as a good friend!

So, luckily FOR all of us here in America Guilt By Association is the new euphemism for Constitutional Authority and our its-been-known-for-a-long-time-to-be-silly Justice System!!

Yay for the Maverick McCain Campaign and their REFORMING of all things judicial!!

/insert wink wink and a "you betcha!" here

We can't ever be too careful about how evil is transmitted.

I wash my hands a lot.

You just don't get it. The Ayers story is dead
by MichaelRyerson
dead as a doornail. Your guy had his chance, it couldn't have been scripted any cleaner if Oliver fucking Stone had set it up for you and then your guy blinked. Now every time you bring it up you remind us all what a frigging wimp McCain is and what a laughable mob you belong to. Get over it, find some fresh sleaze to peddle. This stuff has lost it's punch.
Tactic
by Angel of Dearth

The "chance" hasn't been taken yet.

The story is not dead. It's not over. It's simply been simmering over the past several months. Why simmer? Why not boil over early on and get it over with?

Because months ago, if it boiled over . . .it would be over. The tactic is to build a crescendo such that it boils over on Nov 2 and lasts throughout the election. That way it will be impossible to forget what a lying, treasonous, lecherous, sell out of a "yes" man he is as you enter the booth.

This story is just beginning to take off.

And hey, didja hear about the hot water ACORN is in?

Right about now is the time when this stuff gets ramped up.

Obama will be beyond busy addressing the verifiable and palpable dirt and worms dug up. Too busy, in fact, to campaign.

I love it when a plan comes together.

How easy would it be for the RNC to "register" some bogus voters? A few dozen false names here, one or two winos there - hey, all it costs them is a cheap bottle of Lake Country Red. Plant a couple Acorns, grow a huge scandal.

Don't pin your hopes on this. It isn't going to work for them (or you). Next?

Not at all
by Angel of Dearth

It's fair play.

It would be easy for the RNC to falsly register people here and there but they couldn't do it "in six digits" like ACORN is doing. They would need an organization like. . .like ACORN.

And I love how McCain nailed Obama on the--oh heck! let's just trademark it

the Fannie Four!

by highlighting Obama as the number 2 guy in getting funding from Fannie and Freddie. And Obama's response was not to deny but to deflect.

Beautiful!

McCain needs to focus on that like a kid with a magnifying lens on an ant hill. And he will.

Obama's "tactic" is to attempt to resurrect the Keating Five. But that "boiled over" decades ago. That tactic is dead. Really dead.

And watch how even the polls go in favor of McCain.

It's mackerel dead wrapped in yesterday's newspaper.

As Gertrude Stein once famously opined about her hometown of Oakland California, "There's no there there.' (no kids, Los Angeles was not the target) but on Ayers and now on ACORN, there's no there there.

ACORN's Nevada Office Raided

In their ongoing effort to keep people from voting in November, Republicans have stepped up attacks on ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (they really do hate community organizers), over their voter registration efforts in conjunction with Project Vote.

But this is a strange new twist, in the key swing state of Nevada.

Nevada state officials on Tuesday morning raided the Las Vegas office of ACORN as part of an investigation into alleged voter fraud by the organization which conducts voter registration drives nationally in its work with low-income communities.

About seven agents from the offices of the Nevada Secretary of State and Attorney General served a search warrant and removed boxes and computers after being admitted by the landlord, said Bob Walsh, spokesman for Secretary of State Ross Miller. No ACORN staff was present during the raid, he said. Walsh would not describe what prompted the search....

In July, the two Nevada state agencies involved in the raid, along with the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office for Nevada, formed a task force to target voter registration and election fraud and complaints over voter registration practices, potential voter fraud, and enforcement of laws regarding voter intimidation. The federal agents were not part of Tuesday's search, Walsh said.

ACORN provided this response to the raid:

ACORN Statement from Bertha Lewis, Interim Chief Organizer, on Incident in Las Vegas:

"Over the past year, ACORN has worked hard to help over 80,000 people in Clark County register to vote. As part of our nonpartisan voter registration program, we have review all the applications submitted by our canvassers. When we have identified suspicious applications, we have separated them out and flagged them for election officials. We have zero tolerance for fraudulent registrations. We immediately dismiss employees we suspect of submitting fraudulent registrations.

For the past 10 months, any time ACORN has identified a potentially fraudulent application, we turn that application into election officials separately and offer to provide election officials with the information they would need to pursue an investigation or prosecution of the individual.

Election officials routinely ignored this information and failed to act. In early July, ACORN asked to meet with election officials to express our concerns that they were not acting on information ACORN had presented to them. ACORN met with Clark County elections officials and a representative of the Secretary of State on July 17th. ACORN pleaded with them to take our concerns about fraudulent applications seriously. One week later, elections officials asked us to provide them with a second copy of what we had previously provided to them. ACORN responded by giving election officials copies of 46 "problem application packages," which involved 33 former canvassers.

On September 23, ACORN had received a subpoena dated September 19th requesting information on 15 employees, all of whom had been included in the packages we had previously submitted to election officials. ACORN provided our personnel records on these 15 employees on September 29.

Today's raid by the Secretary of State's Office is a stunt that serves no useful purpose other than discredit our work registering Nevadans and distracting us from the important work ahead of getting every eligible voter to the polls." [emphasis mine]

Smells like a set-up to me. Unless ACORN is lying (presumably they have documentation to back up their information, including correspondence with the SoS's office), they made every good faith effort to work with the state to validate every registration. The state refused those efforts, only to turn around now and accuse the organization of attempting to perpetrate voter fraud? They've also been completely forthcoming in providing any information requested by the state, so why did the state feel compelled to raid their office? It just doesn't make sense.

The there there
by Angel of Dearth

Has ACORN ever been in trouble with voter fraud? Let's see what Wikipedia has to say

  • In Ohio in 2004, four ACORN employees were indicted by a federal grand jury for submitting false voter registration forms.[20][21]
  • In January 2005 two Colorado ACORN workers were sentenced to community service for submitting false voter registrations.[22] ACORN's regional director said, "we find it abhorrent and do everything we can to prevent it from happening."[23]
  • On November 1, 2006, four part-time ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City, Missouri for voter registration fraud. Prosecutors said the indictments are part of a national investigation.[24] ACORN said in a press release that it is in part responsible in these individuals being caught, has fired them, and has cooperated and publicly supported efforts to look into the validity of the allegations.[25]
  • ACORN was investigated in 2006 for submitting false voter registrations in St. Louis, Missouri. 1,492 fraudulent voter registrations were identified.[26][27]
  • In 2007, five Washington state ACORN workers were sentenced to jail time.[28] ACORN agreed to pay King County $25 000 for its investigative costs and acknowledged that the national organization could be subject to criminal prosecution if fraud occurs again. According to King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg, the misconduct was done "as an easy way to get paid [by ACORN], not as an attempt to influence the outcome of elections."[29][30]
  • In 2008, the Michigan Secretary of State office told the Detroit Free Press that ACORN had been submitting a sizeable number of duplicate and fraudulent applications to vote.[31]
  • State authorities in Nevada raided ACORN's offices in Las Vegas in 2008, alleging that its canvassers produced forms with false names, fictional addresses, or famous personalities. Neither ACORN nor any employees, however, have been charged with fraud or other crimes.[32][33]

ACORN and the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008

During the debate on the bailout bill (the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008), Democrats wanted to put in a provision that 20% of profits from the program would go to two programs run by the Department of the Treasury -- the Housing Trust Fund and the Capital Magnet Fund. Some conservative commenters objected that the Treasury-run funds would, in turn, give money to groups like ACORN. Many Republicans object to groups like ACORN receiving any government money, because they say it registers democratic-leaning voters at the same time it works on housing issues. "These are taxpayer funds, in an indirect method, being used to subsidize political activism," says Rep. Jeb Hensarling, Texas Republican and chairman of the conservative House Republican Study Committee. "I'm sure they're not going out and registering any Republicans." [34]

There were no specific earmarks for Acorn in any version of the bill, Senate democrats said. "None. Absolutely none," said Steven Adamske, spokesman for [the honest] Rep. Barney "My-lip-has-fallen-and-it-can't-get-up" Frank (D-Mass.), when asked how much money Acorn or other community groups would get. "All funds would go to state and local governments."[35] Frank is chairman of the Financial Services Committee. The bill as passed contained no reference to ACORN, nor did any of the drafts.

I can find a loophole big enough to drive a Cat truck full of acorns through that. . .which only supports the earlier charge that it was audacious, huge, and well hidden.

But hey, if you say there's nothing wrong with them, then who am I to object?

The Cloward-Priven Strategy of Manufactured Crisis to change government.

Cloward and Priven were Columbia University professors...way back in the 60s...
