All I noticed was that the ONLY thing that got guys excited was the foreign policy talk. They loved the tough stuff McCain and Obama said, but particularly liked the whole McCain stance on Russia.
I wondered why women might not be so receptive to that but incredibly receptive to everything else, and realized that they're probably the ones handling the checkbook register, taking kids to doctors and getting the bills and making the copay, dealing with elderly relatives, shopping for groceries etc. Hence the sky-high response when Obama talked about his mother battling the insurance company from her deathbed.
Although I liked a couple of things about the ticker (the instant feedback was addictive, and I really appreciated how the "zingers" all flatlined no matter which candidate made them), I noticed I was paying less attention to the candidates' faces and body language and more to the way the lines went. Of course, my mind is already made up, so I haven't got to gauge who's going to do the most right by me, I have to see if my candidate is "winning."
I was also a little embarrassed for my fellow ladies for getting such a charge out of so much of the debate. It really wasn't that exciting.
