Can Someone - Anyone explain to me what victory is? With winning comes a prize... Whats our prize. Please dont tell me winning will bring peace and stability in Iraq. Thats their prize. Or tell me it will make our country more secure, thats bull shit.

I think our prize was getting to say "We took out Saddan Hussein!" Whether or not the prize was worth is depends on whom you ask. This is what drives me crazy about the McCain position that we need to stay in Iraq until "victory is won": I know it's not what you want to hear, but IMO the war won't have been won until Iraq is peaceful and stable and independently run, and as such as long as we are there there can by definition be no victory. The only way we will actually be able to get out is by phasing our people out and phasing the Iraqis in and the only way to start that process is to just start it already. If we keep waiting for some arbitrary victory before we begin the phase-out we really will be there for a hunderd years.

This is the question the chicken hawks don't want to answer because the two likely answers are (a) a Sunni dictatorship (Saddam with a different name) or (b) a rigged up "democracy" with Shias in power closely allied to Iran. It's a no-win for USA... which lends support to what many believe: it was Israel's and Haliburton's interest that really drove the Iraq Deception in the first place.

Whether we leave Iraq tomorrow or ten years from now, that country will be a mess the day after we leave. It serves no purpose for us to remain there. It only increases our national deficit and the American death toll.
