The crux of the matter is that this is a real estate problem. Paulson is an idot and then he appoints an arrogant kid, who is too young to know the questions, much less the answers and to make things worse, he's a stock broker, not a real estate professional. I doubt he has ever come close to a mortgage, unless it was simply to buy a home through a real estae broker.
Putting the stock market in charge of the bailout is like putting a music teacher in charge of our nuclear program. This is just stupid arrogance on the part of people who are more interested in power than in doing any good for the ecoomy or the country and is bound for disaster.
Write you congressional delegation and tell them to run this Paulson and his little dweeb out of town and put some people in charrge of this thing who actuallly know how to solve real estate problems. I have written every congressman and senator form my stae and made my case very strongly. We all need to do the same. They will listen if enough of us hammer them.
