Have any of you liberal loons ever known hard times?
by Turbotale
-1 Reply

Have you drawn water out of a well with a rope and bucket? Have you had to cut your own firewood with a handpowered cross cut saw? Have you ever had to traipse through the rain and the snow to relieve yourself in a freezing cold outdoor toilet? Have you gone without lunch because you were too broke to have a 35 cent meal. Have you worked on a farm at age 12 until your fingers blisterd then bled when the blister broke? Have you seen your father work 60 hours a week in a slaughter house to keep his family fed? Workeed until he weighed less than 110 lbs.Have you ever eaten oxtails, pigs feet and sweetbreads because that was all you could afford? Have you ever lived in a house so porous that snow blew through the cracks in the walls? I have done all the abov and that is what makes me so grateful every day that I live in America where through sheer hard work and determination you can succeed. I hate whiners.

I doubt it, all you do is bitch because you can't have the latest electronic gadget or the latest spinner hubcaps. You dumbasses wouldn't know really hard times if it bit yoy in the ass.

That is quite a sad little post there. Are you saying that conservatives have all lived the hard life?

The same could be said of you right wing talibani

republicans.

How many republicans on here have suffered the above in post? I'd say none. unless they were adults in the Great Depression.

Yeah - after Hoover, Reagan and Bush 1 & Bush 2.

You retards love that trickle down/deregulatory horse shit. Assholes like you have been voting against your own interests for years.

If everyone keeps drinking the Rush Limbaugh kool-aid we will all end up in the poor house.

Conservative-when being wrong is just not enough!

I grew up just that way in the fifties. My Dad taught us all the strong work ethic. We all worked and we are all better off today. That is why whining liberals wanting the government to do everything for them ticks me off.

I can say yes to about 80% of what you wrote but I don't draw the same conclusion.

Seems your post was one long whine. Cheer up. Maybe Phil Gram had you in mind.

Yes, I have, to almost all of your post, which was TYPICAL of most people in the South.

I know what high cotton and morning cotton are...I know it all, that you put lye in the outhouse, and I know what a Sears Catalog can be used for too. I also know what actors, and Ben Johnson was one of them, can actually sit a horse!

You are such a fool...these things are all historic, and it was the African Americans more than anyone else who caused the changes that enabled you to prosper in the late 1960s and 70s, because they overthrew the very social force, the Southern Land Owners, who were at the bottom of the system (share cropping Apartied) which created the poverty you (and I) endured.

You are a suicidal fool, and you deserve what you are going to get, only I DON'T!

And here is my sad little tale...

I grew up in the fifties with a single parent. My father walked out on my mother and 3 daughters without a care. She had no job but he knew she was capable of raising us on her own. She sent the 3 of us to 12 yrs of Catholic school...she was still paying off our tuition years after we all graduated. She was never on welfare and worked to support herself up until the day before she died at age 86.

She was a Democrat her whole life and all 3 of us have always worked and never been on welfare but do not judge those who find themselves in even rougher circumstances.

It must have been our Catholic upbringing that taught us not to be hateful of others...

You could take a lesson.

Show me one post on here where a liberal

has stated that they want the government to take care of everything for them. Just one. I am a liberal and PROUD to be one. I believe in a woman's right to choose, I am for the terminally ill deciding to take their own lives, I am for the death penalty, I am for helping out our poor and needy families who can't feed their children, I am for insurance companies being FORCED to cover birth control pills in the same manner they cover viagra, I am for gays being allowed to marry and have the same rights as heterosexuals, I am for public education, I am for the middle class to exist again (right now most of the middle class is close to being considered poverty), I am for intelligent design to stay in churches not our science classes, and lastly I am for America to be looked at with RESPECT by the rest of the world once more and that won't happen with a McCain/Palin win.

So I am damn proud to be one of those hated liberals....at least I know that I am on the RIGHT side not the me me me me me me me self-interest only republican one.

Have you drawn water out of a well with a rope and bucket? No, but I did have to go out and start the pump motor more times than I can remember, in every imaginable weather condition, day and night.

Have you had to cut your own firewood with a handpowered cross cut saw? No, I used an axe.

Have you ever had to traipse through the rain and the snow to relieve yourself in a freezing cold outdoor toilet? Yep, frequently

Have you gone without lunch because you were too broke to have a 35 cent meal? Does searching for loose change in various locations so you could by an 25cent box of Springfield macaroni and cheese count?

Have you worked on a farm at age 12 until your fingers blisterd then bled when the blister broke? No, but I did work on every kind of oil field equipment, from a "lay down" pole unit to 25K foot gas wells in during my late teens. The scar above my right eye as well as the dents in my hardhat indicate that on more than one occassion, I did come within a breath of dying. Does that count?

Have you seen your father work 60 hours a week in a slaughter house to keep his family fed? Workeed until he weighed less than 110 lbs. No, that was more like my dad's dad's life. MY dad went to college so he wouln't have to live that way, but WWII kinda screwed up his plans, but he did spend the majority of his working life teaching in low income schools.

Have you ever eaten oxtails, pigs feet and sweetbreads because that was all you could afford? Nope, beans and cornbread were cheaper.

Have you ever lived in a house so porous that snow blew through the cracks in the walls? Yep, but we had to move into really crappy "trailer house" when the tore it down.

You think you're the only kid who grew up hard? The best part about it was, the black kids had it a whole hell of a lot worse.
