Which candidates do your family members
by DocBill

support?

My 1st wife, my oldest/youngest daughters, and I are voting for Obama; my middle daughter/husband are voting for McCain. My 1st wife and 3 daughters favored Hillary Clinton.

Did you fact check ACORN too?

<<<I have studied the issues and the positions of both candidates, at numerous sites;>>>

Well you didn't do a very good job obviously.

Okay name three issues? You agree with him with?

I can name three. No more drilling, no more nukes(weapons and reactors), no on Yucca.

One of the largest nuke operators in the country(based in Illinois) or at least the employees and their dogs of said company have donated generous sums of money to Obama?

Why so he will support the industry? Or stifle it as with Yucca?

This company might actually stand to profit even more by not opening Yucca by virtue of a contract signed years ago between the industry and the government that stipulates that, the Government would provide a long term storage facility and IF IT DOES not do so the punitive fines will be in the millions, compounding daily.

The burden of which will be brought by the totally innocent taxpayers.

As for the Everlong comment, I'd have to consult him as to the context, but I clearly know he made the comment.

You either didn't see the comment or flat assed ignored it.

But I remember. Even with all the dope I've smoked I haven't forgotten.

My dad is probably voting for McCain, my mom is thinking of either not voting at all or writing in Hilary's name. My sister is voting for Obama. My brother in law hasn't voted once in his 33 years and nothing anyone has ever said can get him to vote!

My wife would have never considered McCain until he put Palin on the ticket.

She was going to write Hillary's name in, but has mentioned that she might vote for McCain now (because of Palin).

She does not trust Obama.

Your brother in law may in fact be the most intelligent one. Voting's a funny thing. You are often damned if you do (I voted for Clinton in 1992 and Bush in 2000) and damned if you don't.

Still wish we had better options.

I don't think my real dad or step mom ever vote. My stepdad is voting McCain (I assume, he always votes republican) -- my mom for the first time ever is voting republican -- because Obama scares her.

My older sister is probably voting McCain - need to ask her. My little sister -- hard to say because she's usually a republican but she's a senior in college so I don't know if she's been corrupted with liberalism or not.

My hubby is rooting for McCain only because Obama makes him want to hurl chunks. I'm voting Barr.

We need change and so I will vote Obama and hope he will really stand up for things that I yearn for. Honesty , openess, respect for law and order, diplomacy. This Wall Street problem should mean that the wealthy should be taxed. Why should the middle class get taxed to take care of the richies.? I like the idea that each transacton on the stock market should have a tax and it should be put in a fund to take care of emergencies. We want lots of rules and protections. The government is created to protect the people. It seems the people need protection from themselves and their greed. Al will vote for Obama I am sure. He doesn't talk politics often. Cousin Sue is a liberal and Cousin Linda is a conservative, , she did take Bush's 4 pictures off the frig when he betrayed her on the treatment of Mexicans.

Blondy, listen to your husband.

I voted for Kinky Friedman in the Texas gubernatorial election, and what did that get me?

I'd take Kinky over Bob Barr as President any damn day!

Rob, my BIL thinks that the voting is rigged anyway and that it is a waste of time to vote. He is a bit of a conspiracy theorist in that area. I would never advocate not voting, but with my rapidly waning interest in this country's political system and its ability to affect real change that will benefit us and not the Washington fat cats, I may very well be a non-voter one of these days.

The last time I felt really good about voting was when I voted Clinton in 2000. I actually liked the guy. I would feel good voting for Hillary if I thought she stood a real chance. But I am still probably voting for McCain, and Palin is a big reason why. I like her because she has been a bit removed from the Washington scene, or at least gives off that impression.
