Sheriff Mike Scott
by ddemos
I'm sure you are aware of the Sheriff of Lee county Fla who, in uniform, talked of Barak Hussein Obama.

Here is the ph # 239 477 1000. I have called and was told there is no law prohibiting the Sheriff's conduct. I was also told it was my interpretation of his remark and that most people didn't feel that way. Really?

Please make lots of calls to this office. Post the # on your website. They need to be taught a lesson.

Thy may very well have a policy about the Sheriff appearing in uniform, and not even getting into what he said, I want to know (1) was he on duty or taking leave of some kind during that speech? (2) If he was on duty, does that mean the county endorsed McCain, and if so how was that decision made? (3) If we was on duty, does the county regularly pay law enforcement personnel to speak at political events, and (4) can other county emloyees express their political views while at work and try to convince the public to join their views? (5) If he was off-duty, what are the departmental guidelines about wearing your uniform off-duty? Can the department demonstrate that he was not paid for this time spent endorsing a political candidate?

good questions. I hope they get asked---and more importantly---answered.
