All we have to do is corner the market raw opium? Why isn't this author a cabinet secretary? Details about cost and feasibility are beneath his paygrade. We can just send Rush Limbaugh around with a big bed pickup truck for the whole crop. Monday morning on Joe Scarborough Mssr. Hitchens also told us that soon the operation in Iraq will "pay for itself." What exactly they'll agree to pay us for remains unknown. The Sunnis are the ones with the protection racket and that is costing nearly 4 Billion a year now. As far as Iraqi surpluses go it still isn't resolved how the factions will dole it out. Now we want a substantial cut too? How much of an oblivious lunatic do you have to be to get on TV and write VF and Slate columns?
Pat Buchanan sat idly by listening to these crackpot ravings without a peep. Apparently it is impolite to question a fellow media celebrity's credentials as a venture capitalist, general or viceroy. Christopher can be anything he wants to be on television and his colleagues will go along with it. The fantasy of Iraq oil paying our bills is astonishing.
