So with an Obama WH and large majority in both houses
by Sgt_ROCK

Will Democrats act like center right moderates and piss off the left wing loons that make up the bulk of their fundraising and organizational / propaganda wings, or act like they did from 1992-1994, ram through a bunch of tax hikes and left wing social engineering programs and get shellac’ed in the midterm elections?

Which would you prefer?

Whatever they do

...the "Sarge" will be lying, spamming, and spinning it frantically, and getting increasing amounts of laughter and derision in return...LOL

eom
Youre confused.....

I dont live for pissing contests the way you do.....
Didn't we do this the other day?
by BFD
A number of the Dems that won open seats or beat incumbent Repubs in '06 were center left moderates as will a number of them this November will be. There are way more possible outcomes than than the two you want to have a pissing contest about,
It will take at least 4 years
by Joe-82
just to get back to the middle. We are way too far right. No Oversite and and rightwing judges. That can not all be changed in 4 years.
IF they go too far Left......
by ZealotforTruth
They will see their numbers turn drastically in 2010, as all those "Blue Dog" Democrats suddenly have competition for their seats, and/or establish themselves as their own, largely autonomous faction within the Democrat Party.
You're lying....

...and I'm laughing my ass off....:)
If it's a "Sarge" post
by Horus

..you can BET you've done it before, and probably more than once. And will do it many more times before election day.

Yawwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnn

Doesn't make sense
by Horus

If they went to the Left (silly prediction to start with), Blue Dogs would be the SAFEST Dems, not the ones most in danger.

But of course, Righties can only see the Right side of the picture, that's your weakness...:)

Not outside the realm of possibility but doubtful
by Sgt_ROCK
Left wingers are in charge of your party, not guys like you and marylb. They can rarely contain themselves and almost always overplay their hand. Just look at your associates here on this board.........
lol

How many sitting Republicans switched party alleigence in 2006?

How many Democrats switched in 1994? (about 30)

You forget about the jittery moods of the electorate....
by ZealotforTruth

But I do agree, that it is not likely the Democrats will go too far Left, BECAUSE of the Blue Dogs.

But, as Sarge said...the Left Wing provides the DNC not only their "Base," but also a lot of financial support.

Gonna be a tough tight rope the Dems have to walk, and they can "fall of" either side, pissing the other side off....

My prediction
by hazydavey

IYou'll probably get "A" or at least "mostly" A.

I think that for two reasons.

First, this notion that the "fundraisining" and "proganda" apparatus belongs to the far left is innaccurate. That hasn't been true for some time. And frankly, the Obama campaign is reinventing both of these. Obviously it's politically obligatory for Republicans to present Obama as some extreme Marxist (Ayers?) But he's not - he's moderate and consensus-oriented and always has been. Even Hilary is way more of an idealogue than Obama. Obama understands that the 1960s are over. Thankfully. It's not an accident that groups like "Moveon.org" were very slow to embrace Obama.

Second, a lot of the Democrats in Congress are the "Blue Dog" variety. It wasn't like that in 1992.

I think that less than two years after the election of Obama, you'll hear the extreme leftists crying about how Obama "betrayed" them. At the same time right wing nut jobs will still be whining about absolutely everything that he does.

That's when you'll know we're on the right track.
