The above is irony, until one realizes the source: the NYT, and the front page of the Times, no less, and today's issue.

The banker who is the recipient of bailout money, Mr. Weisberg, same as any other laborer, was responsible for producing widgets. Today, the whole assembly line is stalled because bankers, if I may put this the way children are apt to put these things, thought they were better than anyone else--including those with years of experience on the line.

All politicians, not only John McCain and Barack Obama, should be required to tell the public the name of the place where they believe bankers are when bankers arrive at such conclusions.
