Did ya know before 1942 Walkers, Blue-ticks & English were all the same breed? They were English Fox & Coon Hounds. They all came from the same place. You were talking about mix breeds, did you know that one of the greatest English dogs of all times "Hard Time Speck" who won the world hunt. Was a registered Walker Dog , single registered English? I don't know enough about the Plott breed to tell ya much, other than they are the tuffest darn dogs on the face of the earth. That is what I need in a dog, there are good ones in all breeds. I ain't color blind, I don't have Plott blood in my veins like some people do. If I have my choice I prefer a Plott, just like I prefer Blonde's. A woman don't have to be blonde to be a good woman, and a dog don't have to be a Plott to be a good dog. It sure helps if a good one is something you like in the first place. I kept English dogs since 1955, till about 5 years ago. I bought one Plott coon hound, he was the tuffest son of a gun I had ever seen. I could not bust him, he could bust me. I had never owned a dog that was even close to being as tuff as this Plott Hound, he did not slack off, back off or quit. That is when I realised my dogs were just not tuff enough, and started moving toward Plott Hounds. I ain't as good as I once was, I an as good once as I ever was!~!~!~ I just wish when I was young I would of had Plotts, I was tuff back then. We would have made a heck of a team then??? One thing for sure we would have treed more game, cause they would not have busted so easy!!! If ya don't hunt much any breed will do, I am talk en about busting a dog. When you can't drag him out of the box, he is busted. Them thar Plotts are not that way, when they see the porch light come on they are ready, even if they are worn out. They don't know quit!! I guess Plotts and the Knapp family have a lot in common, we both come from Germany. Perhaps my ancestors hunted Plotts in Germany?? I don't know?? I do know as long as I am able to hunt, I will have Plotts. If ya ain't got a Plott, ya ain't got a lot!~!~~!~
