SCIENTOLOGY SAVED MY DAUGHTER'S LIFE

First off, let me just say that I am a Catholic. Born Catholic, raised Catholic, practiced Catholicism till this day... and always will.
What I experienced 2 weeks ago has made me question (to a very great extent) why there is so much negativity surrounding Scientology. There is a great deal of negative publicity. Why? I now know the answer: it works. The fact that it works is very threatening to a powerful industry who makes its money from keeping people sick and selling them drugs. If I had not seen with my own two eyes what Scientology can do, I would be believing the negative propaganda.
My daughter, Melissa, is 15 years old. When she was 13, she was in a terrible car accident that killed everyone in the car (3 other girls and the father of one of the girls), except for her. For some unknown reason, Melissa was virtually physically unharmed but she was found in a coma at the site of the accident. My personal opinion is that God somehow protected her from physical harm and from seeing what happened to her friends.
Melissa remained in a coma for almost 2 years, until 2 weeks ago. Something happened two weeks ago but, before I tell you what, I want to tell you what happened during the two years she was in a coma. Following the accident, Melissa was taken to the hospital. Doctors determined that, physically, she was unharmed. They had no idea why she remained in a coma. Test after test revealed nothing. Medical doctors tried every drug in the book. Then they brought in a psychiatrist and she tried every drug in her book. No change. This psychiatrist brought in a team of psychiatrists and they increased the dosage. No change. $623,443, and almost two years later, I got a phone call from someone who heard about my daughter in a local newspaper. He said he was a Scientologist and he thought he could help Melissa. I was desperate. I wanted my daughter back and I didn't want to see her being a test monkey for the drug industry anymore.
The Scientologist explained to me a procedure that he wanted to do on Melissa. It was called an "assist". He said it would bring Melissa back to her body so she could start operating it again. I stayed in the room while he performed the assist. The procedure consisted of just a few simple things that he said to her, along with taking her hand and placing it on top of things such as her pillow. He said the procedure is very specific and ordinarily needs to be done several times for the person to be brought back to consciousness. But, after an hour and fifteen minutes, Melissa was awake. I couldn't believe it. It was truly a miracle.
I told the Scientologist that he was a Saint. His reply was "No, no, no, I'm not a Saint. Anyone can do this." He showed me a book called "Assists Processing Handbook" which lists over 100 procedures which handle all kinds of ailments--anything from the common cold to heart attacks, to broken bones and, yes... comas.
Although Melissa was now fully conscious, she was weak from being bed-ridden for 2 years. She remained in the hospital until she was strong enough.
The hospital's head psychiatrist visited Melissa the next day. He was shocked to see Melissa conscious. I explained to him what happened and how a Scientologist assisted her--in just over an hour. Do you know what his response was? Rage! He wasn't happy to see Melissa awake. He lost his cash-cow and test-monkey. And do you know what he and his "team" wanted to do? They wanted to keep giving her drugs. I had to stay in Melissa’s room for the next two days to make sure they didn't. I got Melissa out of the hospital as soon as I could.
I now know why Scientology receives such bad publicity. Because it works.
Because of Scientology, I have my daughter back. I’m not going to just believe whatever I’m told anymore. I want to see with my own eyes and THEN decide for myself.
