we're voting in Ohio
by julieboomer

we started voting in Ohio Sept. 30th.

anyone can vote absentee by mail or simply go to a voting center and vote then and there.

the voting center is ONE location in each county.

on Nov. 4th all would have to go their precinct location to vote.

two weeks prior to Nov. 4th, the voting center will have extended hours in the evening and will be open Saturdays and Sundays.

how cool is all that?

oh, yeah, it's paper ballots only.

I haven't voted yet because I don't know what all the extra issues will be on the ballot.

I'm going to be in Chicago on detail the first week of nov. I voted Friday in my county here. was really surprised I could. but its done although it probably won't be counted unless there is a close race. but it won't be here, most of the local elections are one candidate 'races'. but I wanted my voice (vote) heard. a tiny speck of blue in a sea of red.

I live in a metro area so I'm in a sea of blue. :o)

this may be the first election where they start out counting the absentee ballots because most of the votes may well be cast in this fashion.

did they give you a regular ballot or an absentee? or is there a difference?

all our votes are paper read by a counting machine. the ballot was the same as I would get on election day, but after I had made my choices, I put it into an envelope which I sealed and then that envelope went into another that had an affidavit on the front and to which was attached a copy of my drivers license.
