Obama is Black. McCain is White. Any arguments there?

Gee, everyone wants to act like there are no racial issues involved in this election.

Of course race will be an issue in American politics for the foreseeable future, but for this election, it's a really minor issue, especially with economy topping the news.

Plus, Obama is atypical of the black population in this country. Most American blacks are of West African descent, while Obama's father is Kenyan. Add to that, Obama was raised by his white mother and grandparents in Kansas, and he started his political career by working with Catholic churches in Chicago. His career and background is hardly typical of the black experience in the US.

Sure, there are plenty of people who are afraid of dark candidates, but most of them weren't going to vote for no damn lib'rul Dem'crut anyhow, or their votes will be more than offset by Obama's gains with independent voters.
