I Believe Obama Is a Narcissist
by Urquhart
+2/-1 Reply

Though not from quite the Oedipal psychobabble angle express'd below.

Think back to the last time you heard Obama become passionate about something. Anything. Waiting. C'mon, surely you can think of something. Iraq war? Nope. Poor peoples hurtin? Nope. Um, I dunno, health care or something? Nope. Mom giving the bracelet of a combat fatality? Nope nopitty nope.

The only time I've ever seen him get worked up is when he feels personally attacked, disparaged or ridiculed. We are the change we've been waiting for. This is the time when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the earth began to heal.

In sharp contrast, as Jon Stewart astutely observed, McCain has no poker face. There's plenty of things he doesn't care about, and you see it instantly. On the other hand, there are plenty of things he cares deeply about, and at least half of them are annoying. Which half depends upon where you're standing.

Supporters criticize Obama for not displaying enough passion about their issues. 'He needs to get out there and show more passion.' This is not because he is a shy and private man. Shy and private men tend not to write two autobiographies before accomplishing anything. The reason he displays no passion is simple, once you strip away the rhetoric and the spin.

He just doesn't care.

Wrong, read my post

You really don't understand for being such a smart person Urg.

I understand you, but you don't understand Obama, I've lived thru

what Obama experienced, and other like him.

Open your mind and listen for a change,

It'll do the brain the Almighty found fit to give you, some good.

No shit. What politician isn't?
Talent on Loan From God

And it now requires me to read your top-post? Dagnabbit, take this cup from me. The things I'm expected to endure around here.

I did skim it beforehand. Both you and Laurie laid on the psychobabble stuff pretty thick. As the Divine Sarah says, the Presidency is not a journey of personal discovery.

I don't care why he doesn't care. It's just obvious that he doesn't care. That should be sufficient.

Massive Ego Alert
by Urquhart

Sure, you have to be crazy to run seriously for president. But he's crossed the line into self-parody with alarming frequency. And then gets all pissed off when people poke fun at him.

But still, most politicians at this level care about something.

Maybe so maybe not
by Sarvis

But it tickles me to point out that G W Bush had obvious personality pathologies of Shakespearean dimensions, and you guys elected him twice.

And now we have Palin, who I secretly want to win if only so I can spend some quality time dissecting the conservative infatuation with that obviously flesh eating alien lifeform, robotically tear assing around the campaign in an ill fitting candidate suit..

get off your horse, Urq
by Pace

read it, it's isn't pyschobabble, it's truth, and if you don't understand,

I pity you, means you can't see beyond the end of your nose,

He doesn't care? I'd like to see proof of that, if he didn't "care" Urq

he'd be a very highly paid lawyer for some old firm that wanted a

centerpiece to their affirmative action program,.

If he didn't care, he'd be campaigning in another country

If he didn't care, he wouldn't have exposed himself to the slings and

arrows that your "lesser angels" impel to you fling.

He doesn't care, just running,

Shows how much he cares.

You'll Get My Horse
by Urquhart

When you pry him from between my cold, dead legs. There's an image.

Yeah, having a vehicle to become most powerful man in the world. That's some sacrifice for a narcissist.

Face It, She's Gorgeous
by Urquhart

From any angle. Non-stop intrigue. Whichever way this one turns out, she's running in 2012. Future of the party. Palin-Jindal.

I think her suit fits just fine. You betcha!

Are you kidding? you believe he's a narcissist?
by Pace

Hitler was a narcissist with a fear of success dent,

Napoleon was a narcissist with delusions of granduer,

You have a level headed candidate whose gone thru what you

conservatives yearn for; a rite of passage, and you reject him

for a crazed old man whose running mate is monitoring his vital

signs like a cat watching a mouse.

Gimme a break, and regards to the horse,

His cargo is flawed in "it's" judgement.

Paging Joseph Campbell

A Rite of Passage? The prosecution rests.
You fool, rites of passage, as ancient as time itself
by Pace

you point to Joseph Campbell, yes, bless him, he understood,

You don't, even Native Americans understand this better than you,

You fool, you think going off to get your brain boiled in a helmet is

a "rite of passage" that's war,

Jesus never fought a "war" but he went thru his own "rite of passage"

and that was when he stopped playing "hide and seek" and threw

the money changers out of the temple, how did he get repaid? by

being condemned to death by a governor three hundred miles

away.

Gimme a break, you can't deny what is timeless, but you'll die

tryin.

The Messiah!
by Urquhart

Truly, Jesus was a community organizer at heart.

Though Obama also bears some similarity to Pontius Pilatus, who is famous for voting 'present.'

That's hogwash!
by Pace

You can't jump from one place to another, make up your mind Urq

Just state you "don't like him" don't try to justify some inane, juvenile

reaction to Obama, by your "pyschobabble",

Present indeed, at least he doesn't parade the corpses of soldiers

around like a bumpersticker and then votes against them like McCain,

and I am not talking about health benefits Urq, I am talking about

"TORTURE" McCain was against before he was for it.

It's a disgrace

Talk About Flailing Wildly
by Urquhart

Now we're on to "TORTURE". Tchah! Subject-changing running amok.

I'm all in favor of aggressive interrogation. Haven't had a terror attack in seven years.
