Michelle Had Ayers Speak In 1997
by cobia hunter

So, according to Barry, the unrepentent domestic terrorist William Ayers was "just a guy who lived in my neighborhood", huh? What a crock. Looks like he's been pals with the Obamas all along, and they've played you lemmings like a fiddle. And the hits just keep on comin', folks!

Just curious, how is the weather up Karl Rove's ass?

Actually, it's according to the AP, to which Palin tried to say that they were wrong. McCain has come to this. Using the same sort of dishonorable tactics he faced against Bush's mudslingers.

The crock here is obvious. And you are in it up to your eyebrows.

Actually...

The linked article does prove that the title of this thread is factually accurate. Deal with it.

I think what most of us are saying is "Who the Fuck Cares!"
Re: Actually...
by quidfecisti
Really? Because that's not what anyone else seems to be saying?
Re: Actually...

Nope, Nancy is correct. From what I can tell, people see this as a racist ploy to slur Obama by an increasingly desperate McCain campaign.
Re: Actually...

And in what possible way is this racist?
Re: Actually...

Because the message that Obama is dangerous feeds fear of the "Angry/Dangerous/Violent Black Man," a cultural archetype that race-baiters have been using to foment interracial conflict for years.

As the article says, they appeared together on a panel to discuss issues relating to juvenile crime and punishment, a topic on which Ayers had considerable expertise, and Obama was working on related legislation in the Illinois Senate.

A very nefarious liaison indeed. You guys are gasping your last rasping breaths. But please continue, it is fun to watch.

That sounds pretty stupid to me. If you want to argue that the attacks are unfair or out of overblown, that's one thing, but it's pretty silly to say that they're motivated by bigotry. Surely you, the person bringing up the issue of race when it is extraneous, superfluous, and utterly unneccessary, are the "race-baiter"?

This article proves that Michelle Obama thougth William Ayers would be a good person to invite as a speaker, and that Barack was aware of it. Don't care? That's fine, but don't try to pretend it doesn't exist.

So, you don't think that pulling out terms like "radical" and "dangerous" aren't meant to instill fear. Go to Urban Legends And then there are the right wing nuts like Ann Coulter who insist on calling him Barack Hussein Obama to rile up anti-muslim sentiment.

As for inviting Ayers to speak at a University function, so what? The point of a university education is to expose students to a wide range of viewpoints and give them the critical thinking tools to evaluate the claims made by those people. As a general rule, the more controversial, the better. Inviting someone to speak is not a tacit endorsement of their biography.

And yet, you can't deny the factuality

But he was just some guy in their neighborhood

When was the last time, YOU asked some guy from your neighborhood to speak at a forum that you were organizing. It's all a coincidence. You guys are unbelievable. Talk about the suspension of disbelief.
