Yeah, either you're fuckin stupid or you think (stupidly) everyone else is.

Uh huh. Whatever. This whole mess has its origins in the late 90s thanks to the Clinton administrations' *feel good* desire to put more minorities in homes, aided by longtime Democraticic party rats' nests Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac.

This whole shitpile rests squarely on the Democratic Party's stooped shoulders.

Yes it is.

The Republicans under the Bush administration tried time and again to fix the problem but the Democrats protected their little scheme (Fannie and Freddie) and wouldn't let anyone touch it.

And now........they're able to lay it at the feet of Bush..... and many dummies in this country are buying the malarchy that it's Bush's fault.

The whole fault belongs to the Democrats a la Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and their ilk.

What does that have to do with the original post?

Exactly. This was nothing but another of the Democrats' attempts at *fairness*-based, race-based, goofball, social-engineering, and Dodd, Frank, ad nauseum fought all attempts to regulate because that would've prevented penniless minorities from being given mortgages i.e. 'access to affordable housing.'

THAT'S what this is all about.

And unfortunately it looks like we are about to go into another era where those same mistakes are repeated...... at the expense of all of us who are contributing to the whole thing.

It's not going to be good....... especially as all initiative is lost and those who are working get the big picture and quit supporting the ne'er -do-wells.

...even if that were true why have republicans...

...been so impotent?

...if that were true, why has McCain continued to push for deregulation of the banking industry?

...if that were true why hasn't republican domination in terms of being a majority in the Congress over the past 16-years and executive branch for 1/2 that time been able to accomplish little if anything to arrest this problem?

Yes, the Democrats have yanked the rug out from under the economic bedrock of America - it's home-owning middle-class - all for some warped sense of 'fairness' to undeserving minorities. And the monsters who hatched and covered-up this scheme won't even face prison terms, much less defeat on election day.

Because 'compassionate' Bush, 'maverick' McCain and the GOP were only too happy to continue the Democrats'/Fannie/Freddie scheme of affordable minority homeownership. Why? Both parties were whoring for minority voters.
McCain called for and supported a 2005 bill

to reign these agencies in. How many Democrats supported it?
...wow, that is the most illogical logic I have...

...ever seen. So, in your opinio, it is the democrats fault with the republicans being complicit though no fault of their own - ummm, sure.

...and I thought McCain was desperate...

Bush is no hero in my eyes. He has made some grievous mistakes during his terms in office.

But I am angry that the Dems are now able to pin this one on him. It's theirs........all theirs....... and it seems that the majority of the American people are buying their lies.

Those people (Dodd, Frank, et al) should be in prison for what they've done.
