Really?

I would ordinarily agree that this is such a stupid detail to include, but I actually think it's made relevant by how heavily this movie pushes its own multiculturalism. It's like a brochure, where people of every color are conspicuously equally represented in every shot.

So with that in mind, yes, it's silly that Dana Stevens didn't just say that instead of alluding to it, but it makes her allusion somehwat less of a non-sequitur.
