We simply cannot afford our current
by Skeptical3

Congress.

In order to pass the 700 Billion Rescue Bill ( aka Bail Out Bill) the Senate had to sweeten the pot in order to buy enough Senate and House votes to insure passage.

The "Rescue Bill" Bush just signed is at 870 billion dollars, a 20% markup on the original request..

That comes down to ~ 300 million dollars per Congressional vote.

We can't afford these guys.

Adding insult to injury, these clowns are now telling us that they have no idea what is in the bill, they have no idea if it will work.

Bush is about gone. Unless we get smart and dump a bunch of the current crop of politicians, we will be stuck with them for two more years and the only change we will see is more of the same only worse.

No cheers from Skeptical just now.

Conservative in the White Hat that suffers with class and dignity the slings and arrows of the ignorant.

,You sound like some brainwashed Progessive ass. one who will bitch about the long walk to the breadline or soup kitchen because there is no gas for the family car.

Tough, for over a year now I have advised the prudent man to buy stock in a good bicycle company, to buy a sturdy bike with tow along for market day and a good racing bike for the commute to the unemployment line.

I'll bet you are still running on empty.

Just between you and me, my skeptical one, I live entirely on the interest from my invested inheritance.

Don't we all?

Not to worry.

as mine that are going to get what we went through in the Great Depression.

Play the wise ass, egal...at the end of WWII a kraut we almost ran over with our four by four on a street with no sidewalks said "egal" I lived through the war, I die now, egal.

Not for me, JackD.

You just witnessed Pelosi and Reid add 170 billion dollars in pork to a so called Rescue Bill in order to save our nation from financial disaster. All this after Barney Frank blew it last Sunday and then took off on a religeous vacation for four days. Monday to Thursday. During the Great Depression, Roman Catholics as a matter of Faith could not eat meat on Friday. In Boston, at least, men who did manual labor and therefore needed the protein that fish did not provide, were permitted to eat meat.

You think that Jews cannot work a Jewish Holiday without going to a Jewish Hell?

If I go down the drain because of a bunch of corrupt pols...get off my back with your nonsense

Good for you. Enjoy it as you

try to eat the plastic that is the Obama Pie in the Sky.
One has to vote . . .
by another_liberal

. . . for the candidate who will be likely to cause the least damage to our country. This time around, it's clearly Obama.

Every congressman that voted yea should be voted out of office in November, regardless of what party he's in.

Same for whichever yea-voting senators are up for election this year.

That would get their attention (or the attention of their successors, I should say)

The people you support had a lot to do with getting us to whatever we are going to go through but you knew that.
