Authentic America

I live in in a small town in ct., and I am sick and tired of being marginalized by the likes of Sarah Pailn and the republicans. I do not live in Westport of Greenwich I live in Thomastton a small mill town of less than 10,000 people along the Naughatuck river. The clock factory the town was named for moved out almost 30 years ago. We are middle class town of teachers and policemen, nurses, machinist and insurance company middle management. we have 6 chuches in out town, our young men are enlisting in the service. We play little league and soccer just like in Alaska We feel the pain of that this administration has brought on this as well as anyone. I have 2 sons and I would be damned proud if either one of them turned out half as well as Obama or Biden.

Well put. The truth is Obama is exactly the type of Horatio Alger success story that Republicans like to trumpet in their fairy tales. Every conservative parent (who is not a religious nutjob) pushes his/her kids to go to good schools, study hard and work his way to the top just like Obama. Nobody ever tells their kid to finish at the bottom 0.5% percentile like McCain, in order to be more in touch with the average Joe Sixpack.

I live in a town of 120,000 (60,000 when I moved here from Ohio) in California. I left the midwest because I couldn't live in such a backward atmosphere. In my town they play soccer and baseball, go to church (not me, hate religion), look for jobs (I am apparently over-qualified for anything available) go to movies, raise kids (mine works with disabled children), drink beer, and do other things almost everyone else does. My choice was Hillary because she is the most intelligent of the current crop, but, even tho not terribly happy about it, will vote Obama as the lesser of the evils available. I am not racist or homophobic, and believe everyone is an individual and not merely part of a group to be catered to. Palin is an individual that I would never consider associating with, she having more than 2 faces and none of them attractive.
