We've pretty much gone past the point of caring who wins: Obama or McCain.

The Housing Market has been Nationalized. One man controls a trillion or so dollars. With NO oversight.

Might as well go with the worst case scenario that Barack Obama will be President. Realize that Obama wants the Sixty Percent of Americans who pay Federal Income Tax to subsidize the Forty Percent of Americans who pay NO Federal Income Tax.

That means that you and I will have to pay for a Welfare Socialists food, house, children's education, their car, their medicine and just about everything else the Welfare Socialists can get away with stealing from us.

In short, if you are a bleeding heart liberal with money, you are doomed. Cause a Welfare Socialist would just as soon slit your economic throat as to look at you.

If you let a Welfare Socialist take advantage of you, you have no one to blame but yourself.

The war is on between Capitalism versus Socialism.

This is a very real war.

We've gone passed the point of diplomacy.

I wonder if markfifteen went to school at any point in his life. If so, his elementary school costs, secondary school costs, and some post secondary school costs (if he made it that far) were paid for with tax revenues taken from other people besides his own family.

Did you have running water Mark, or indoor toilets? The infrastructure to put in the waterlines and sewers were paid for by the tax revenues taken from a lot of people, not just your family.

Did you have electricity in your boyhood home, or your garbage picked up? Guess what. Paid for by tax revenues taken from other people.

Get the burr out of your butt, and realize that we exist as a society because our tax dollars support each other.

Herbie, Herbie, And I suppose you were real educated. All the cases you listed are tax supported, yes, but I benefit also. The scene the gentleman was painting, is that you will be paying and paying and paying, without any benefits to you and your family. Get a grip on reality: no foregn power needs to invade us. We are self-distructing from within. I won't even bringing up the case of the illegals that are costing you and me 320 billion dollars a year. Factor that into your socialism.

Jim7, based on your spelling prowess, I guess we can assume that you did not cost taxpayers much for educating you. Did you make it as far as the eighth grade?

With your frothing at the mouth, you missed the point completely. We are a “civilized” society because we support one another whether or not there is anything in it for ourselves.

Your “what’s in it for me” attitude is the exact reason we have a financial meltdown going on.

Umm, Herbie... a civilized society is NOT one that supports everyone else, it is simply a society that is... well.... civilized.

Government handouts are not what makes one civilized, its what makes one dependent on his government, that's all!

While I respect your believe that we should help our fellow man, it is NOT the place of our government. If so, then who chooses which one's are worthy of help, and which one's aren't. I may not be the right color or in the right tax bracket, but I'll take some free stuff too when you get around to it. This civilized behavior is starting to catch on already!!

All the original poster was suggesting is that those of us that do provide for our families, our friends, our neighbors don't need to be taxed to kingdom come just so someone like you can decide where to redistribute it to (to buy the recipients vote, of course). I pay taxes, I get benefits/services. I don't need to pay more taxes whilst not even qualifying for additional services from my government. If I want to help my community (and I do), then I'll choose where that assistance is directed (and I do). You do the same... being that you are so "civilized".

As the late George Carlin said, "anything your government can do for you, you can do for yourself... only cheaper and better". Please stop labeling fiscally conservative folks as the "bad ones", as though they don't have compassion. How compassionate can we be as a nation if we tax the wealthy and redistribute to those that won't do for themselves? We'll handicap another generation of welfare kids, disenfranchise those with the resources to actually help, and all this while letting our collective taxes be wasted by politicians that don't really care about you and I (unless we're on our way to the voting booth).
