Palin's Performance

I completely agree with your choice of words. Palin did indeed "perform" well. She learned her lines carefully and delivered them well, much like one does at a high school play. But then, the vice presidency is not a high school play, is it? In fact, if she becomes the Vice President, we'll have at least four more years of the Chaney Doctrine - the Vice Presidency is both an executive and legislative position. In her view of the world, the office of the Vice President is far too important to be placed in the hands of someone who has far less understanding of the issues than a well-read high schooler.

Chaney

Lon? The "Lon Chaney Doctrine?" Well, howl at the moon!

Comedy gold. We've only seen the vice president's name in print for 8 YEARS, you zombie.

After awhile they both were making me sick! They were two annoying people who really had nothing to say. It is like attending a Freshman sport. The only reason you are there is because your child is on the team. There is no hoopla, no cheerleaders, no band and hardly any refreshments.

Palin did manage to hold her head up after those disasterous interviews. She was well rehearsed and really showed false caring. She is really out of her element and should step down. The Hawaiian Governor looks like a very capable replacement and she comes across as matronly and all knowing. I think she and Biden would compliment each other.

Biden was Biden. He did contain himself and provided information. I liked that! He even looked Presidential at times. I hope the Democrats win in November because this country will see a change for the better. I like the slow, cerebral type of man in charge . Thinkers are always good. They perform well in life. This country needs this type of man because we have been dealing with stupidness for the last 7.8 years. Okay everybody let chant Obama! Obama! Obama! President Obama!

I liked that!

Did you like that he gave you false information? Did you like that he doesn't even know that Hizballah is still in Lebanon, and that they actually whipped Israel in a war two years ago? Did you like that Joe wants to use NATO forces in Lebanon, even though NATO's charter doesn't extend to non-member nations like Lebanon? Did you like all that?

Are you liking that sippy-cup?

Yeah, 'Chaney' Is Almost As Funny As...

Palin referring to General McClellan in Afghanistan, when it is General McKiernan.

Perhaps Ms. Palin thinks we are still back in the 1860s, when General McClellan was Lincoln's first top general in the War of Northern Aggression.

Palin is not an attorney like Biden and Obama. She is not a Washington insider that has had twenty plus years of practice learning her stump speeches and know how everyone votes like Biden. She is everyday main street. That is what makes her so refreshing and energizing. For people who really want change, changing political parties in the white house is not the answer, that's just the same tired old politics as usual. Sarah Palin is real change. So if Obama gets elected, don't go complaining about your taxes going up or the corruption in Washington and on Wall Street. You asked for it. Chicago has one of the most corrupt systems of government in the U. S. That's where your buddy came from. He owes alot of people and alot of people are going to expect payback. Why do you think our gas prices are so high? Bush had to pay his buddies back. Linden Johnson did the same thing back in the late 60's. Wake up, it's not a republican or democrat exclusive. They all do it. The democrats definitely have you brain washed.

So what if Palin is everyday main street? I don't want everyday main street in the White House, because everyday main street is ill-educated, uninformed, and not very bright. I want people in the White House who are very intelligent, educated, and have at least a passing familiarity with national and world affairs. Palin meets none of those qualifications.

You think changing political parties in the white house is change? No, that is politics as usual. Real change takes place when we go after the jerks in Washington who let this whole mess go down and then point the fingers at each other so we won't know who's really at fault. We need to go after every republican and democrat who looked the other way and got paid to do it. That is change. The rest is just words.

We need someone who really wants change and then we need to hold that person to his word. Obama is from Chicago, one of the most corrupt systems of government in the US. He will have people to pay back for getting him in the white house. He will do his dirty deals as well. We may or may not find out about it. But don't complain when your taxes go up and nothing is done about the corruption in Washington or Wall Street, you voted for it.

We don't need a Vice President who is "refreshing and energizing", we need one who is educated and wholly informed. Is refreshing and energizing enough qualifications to handle nuclear global conflict? Will cutesy cut it in that swamp of alligators in Washington? Being brain-washed is when you can't think outside of the box, and in this case, the box you are trapped in is the Republican box. I wouldn't be calling others brain-washed when you serve yourself up as a perfect example.

I still can't figure out why people like JOYCEM here would not want to get on an airplane with an awshucks regular mainstreet gal who had no knowledge about flying a plane, no matter how everyday and maintstreet she was. Or a surgeon. No one would dare close their eyes if an awshucks regular mainstreet gal who had no knowledge about medicine started sharpening that scalpel and winking at you. We appreciate education in those instances, don't we? expertese' and skills are NOT something to scoff at with THOSE professions. So, why do they set the bar SO very low for the person who may be president of the U.S., the executive in charge of our economy, our military abroad and so forth.? Haven't the last 8 years taught us how ineptly a dumb person can be at the job?

There is a lot of corruption in Alaska, some of which we are only just now finding out about. Does the name Senator Ted Stevens ring any bells? And how about the ongoing efforts to block any probes into Sarah Palin's firing of a top state official, which seems to have been part of a personal vendetta?

Alaska is probably one of the most corrupt states in the Union.

And, unless you are in the top five percent of the income distribution in the United States, your taxes will NOT go up under Obama. Don't take this the wrong way, but you do not strike me as being one of those people likely to be found in the top 5%.....

Do you think this 'regular, natural, mainstreet' approach, you know, if ordinary, nothing special thinker Sarah could be president, then, so could I?' has anything to do now with the trend you see with the "right" way to raise kids? you know, don't keep score in sports, so that a tie means 'everyone wins'? and compliment compliment compliment them, tell them at the playground, like you are hearing answers on "Family Feud" "good jumping! good running! good breathing! clap clap". That's IT, isn't it?

You think maybe since our society has devalued education and intelligence and skills and such to such as extent, that George W. Bush can be elected for 2 terms; no one cares how little Sarah Palin knows about anything--as long as she has an ordinary gal attitude!. Hmmm. maybe this devaluation of merit, skills, quality, intelligence, education, and the like, is the reason that so many countries around the world now are 'eating our lunch?'

"Alaska is probably one of the most corrupt states in the Union. "

I think Alaska WAS one of the most corrupt states is more accurate. The FBI's been raiding our politician's offices for several years up here, this is not news to us. Sarah Palin was elected over the incumbent Republican governor because he was very much one of the good old boys trying to concoct secret deals with the oil companies. Our legislature had to get a restraining order to prevent him from closing said secret deals. Sarah Palin was on the committee investigating our politicians for corruption prior to being elected. She was never part of the corruption and it wasn't just the oil companies up here who didn't like here too much, it was a lot of the people in her own party.

As for trooper gate, the charges are utterly ridiculous. Her exbrother in law never got fired, although he should have been for admitting to drinking while on duty in his patrol car, illegally shooting a moose and tasing his son. The charges are just sour grapes from a commissioner who could not maintain discipline and order, and was therefore ousted.
