The Black President
by Sebastiao Albano
Although I don't agree with some ideas Lobato presents in this book, the only sci-fi he wrote, I always liked to read his books since I was a boy here in Brazil. He wrote for children and for adults. I've read all his adult literature. In this book " O Presidente Negro " he not only tells the story of the race for the White House but he also foresees the Internet. He says that in the future the radios will have a little screen where you can read the news, buy things, talk with friends and even work from home. And that he wrote in 1926! He lived in USA from 1927 to 1931 and became a great fan of the great president Abraham Lincoln. His articles, in Portuguese, about Lincoln, are really moving. In this book he cites the Great President several times. Sebastiao Albano Cruzeiro, SP - Brasil

He was an Afro-Brazilian, wasn’t he? If he really was, this means why he didn't foresee GWB's era. He could have avoided his re-election for at least the second term and, therefore, could have saved the United States and the world from running the risk of a second recession, alas!
