Biden dominates poor Palin.

Tonight was a bad night for poor Sarah Palin. Joe Biden was calm, assertive and assured, and he had plenty of those "facts" that republicans hate so much. Palin was like a deer in headlights. The most she could muster up was some lame "darn right" comments and scripted campagin talking points tahat looked as fake as her eyelashes. Joe spoke from the heart, she proved she didn't have one. After Joe talked about his struggles as a single father, she went into some long winded speech about McCain being a maverick...how nice and caring. Sarah was spanked tonight, and now poor John McCain is pulling out of Michigan. It's over GOP, get ready for Obama/Biden:)

not quite...

The "Fact" that Joe seemed most sure of...so sure of that, in fact, he repeated it with dramatic emphasis, was a complete distortion. When he said that we spent as much in a few weeks in Iraq as we have in several years in Afghanistan, he was simply lying.

This is pointed out rather clearly elsewhere on this site.

Overall, Biden performed very impressively in my opinion. Why don't you try for a little balance?

I agree that Biden did much better than Palin, but I don't think this is a deciding factor for most undecided voters. People will--and should--pay more attention to the upcoming debates between Obama and McCain.

Actually I felt she did good. When you consider that Biden Has 30+ years in the senate, he should of mop the floor with her. He didn't. She was also right when she cited that he was for funding Iraq and Obama wasn't. He cited that McCain too voted against funding the troops. He was right, but what he didn't say was that the Dems were trying to strong arm the Repulicans for an early withdrawal. In the end, McCain voted to fund the troops, so did Biden but Obama didn't. She was right. ( I wonder if the main stream media will print that? )

He also sounded good on the bailout. But wasn't he and Barny both members of the banking committie? Why with his experience it should of never gotten this far. Why did it?

As for Michigan, I think that McCain is making a mistake. There is probably more redneck Dems in this state then he knows.

"She was also right when she cited that he was for funding Iraq and Obama wasn't."

>>Might put things in perspective to recall that Palin and McCain disagree with each other on policy--ANWR drilling, military intervention in Pakistan, etc. If such current differences of opinion aren't an issue, why would Biden/Obama's past differences of opinion be relevant?

Because either one of them could hold the office of president.

Example one: McCain passes away in office thenshe becomes president. In many conservatives eyes, it wouldn't be a bad thing as she is more consevative then McCain and is more then likely to go consevative.

Example two: If Obama passes away, then Biden becomes president. Once again, I'm sure that many conservatives would rather see Biden then Obama anyway for he has a history of supporting the Iraq War.

Like or not, their past is relevant.
