After listening to Gee Dubya say "nukular" for eight years now, I cringed when Sarah Palin said the same thing! Neither she nor Bush has enough respect for the English language or the public to learn the proper pronunciation of the word "nuclear." It may seem trivial to the "Joe six-pack crowd," but speaking English correctly is a sign of an intelligent person, and after wight years of Bush-speak, we arte ready for someone capable of forming a simple declarative sentence. Enough with the "folksy dummies."

The real problem for libs is that she is a whole lot more like mainstream America than Obama and his elitist supporters are. Obama still hasn't found the formula to connect with 'Joe Six Pack', although I did see him take a sip of beer once to try and show that he was one of the boys...he even tried to bowl. What a hoot!

I happen to know a lot of very smart people who also pronounce nuclear as nukelar. So what. I do not have 'warm fuzzies' about her being the VP but not because she sometimes mispronounces a word or two.

In case you have never ventured past the street you grew up on, the US is a pretty big place with lots of geographical and cultural regions, many of which have unique, identifiable, pronuncations of words.

I personally enjoy nothing more than to hear someone fron Boston talk about how they can't understand someone from Atlanta when they speak, knowing that some cajun feels exactly the same way about the guy from Boston.

But that really isn't it at all now is it?

I suspect you don't really care about Palin's annunciation. I suspect that you, and most other looney-libby shits on here could watch Palin on tv with the sound off and STILL speak the same of her. It isn't her speaking you can't stand, its that she isn't speaking what YOU want said.

teigan: If by "elite" you mean knowing the proper way to pronounce a simple, seven letter word, I do prefer that "class." All one has to do, is look at the word and remember what you were taught in 1st grade about pronununciation, to know that Gee Dubya has been mangling the word all these years, just like he mangled everything else. And, if "elite" means wanting a president (or vice-president) who is smarter than the average seven year old, I definitely prefer that to the half-wit who has been in the WH since 2001!
