I trust agony has turned to ecstasy as Governor Palin demonstrated once more that optimism tempered with humility trumps experience diluted by sanctimony every time. If the left would ever comprehend that doing right matters more than being right, then perhaps their collective agony and angst would cease, and they would see that there are few saints on Wall Street, K Street, or Main Street, and that - GASP! - there are smart, decent women over on the right side of the political aisle.

If experience was the defining issue Strom Thurmon would have been president. Consistently we elect Governors to the executive because they have the real experience necessary, which is executive experience. She was commanding and humble at the same time. A masterful performance and one which will be remembered for its genuineness, honesty, and integrity.

What do you define as executive experience? Since taking office in 2007, she spent 312 nights in Wasilla- 600 miles away from her office. It became such a joke, lawmakers wore "Where's Sarah?" pins. Mayor Mark Begich of Anchorage needed to meet with Palin to secure fund to operate traffic lights, since she was busy, state officials just told him to turn some off. When he threatened to go public, she finally agreed to meet.

If that's the worst you can come up with, go back to the drawing board. Most of the senators, congressmen and other gov't officials have done far worse; some even accused of murder. I'm just saying that NO politician is perfect, democrat or republican.

It's not the worst, it's just an example. Yes, no one is perfect and many senators, congressmen and women and other government officials have done far worse- I wouldn't trump for them either. I don't think experience is the end all, but, I DO think that what you do while you are gaining that experience matters significantly. This goes for any politician you are going to vote for- pick someone who you feel sees your point of view, but also be certain that they aren't just saying what you need to hear. Research what they've done, not to quote Joe Biden, but, Past is Prologue. If someone hasn't done well in the past, don't promote them.

But, yes, no one is perfect. Palin is just on the other end of the spectrum.

Huh. I must have missed that debate, where Sarah Palin appeared "commanding and humble" and gave a "masterful performance."

I watched the one last Thursday night, where she dodged honest questions, instead choosing to answer ones concocted in her own empty head, and sounded like a robot switched to the "folksy talkin'" setting - babbling meaningless talking points and repeating "maverick" as if it were a tic from Tourette's syndrome.

At best, this fool stuck to her talking points and never veered from glittering generalities and copying Reagan rather than thinking on her feet. The "best" parts of her night were quite obviously rehearsed and rehearsed, as when a nervous frat boy crams for the English exam.

If anything, this debate appearance will be remembered for the genuiness of not of Governor Palin, but of Joe Biden, who talked at one point about losing his wife and daughter. Her response to him looked insensitive and horrible, as she barrelled ahead with her automaton-like yammering of maverick-ness and Washington-outsider-ness.
