Who won?
by Jen01

I dunno, I think Biden may have won. Palin was good but I agree that she started recycling a bit at the end. I think she did better at the beginning and she did not say anything stupid. But Biden didn't either. I think he won, but very minimally.

Gwen Ifill did an excellent job. As it turns out........I think she was a great choice for moderator.

Biden won, She needed a home run to have a big positive impact for McCain, that didn't happen It is Obama's to lose.

I agree, but she did well considering the short time she's been in this race.

Depends...

... on what winning means.

If we're just looking at the debate itself, that question has to be asked of undecided voters. That ain't us :)

Personally, I think Palin won in the sense that she exceeded expectations. Biden was simply Biden. But I don't think she beat Biden in any meaningful way and I think she needed to do that in order for this debate to make an impact on the race.

That depends...

If you're talking about how an impartial judge would have decided, palin would have been disqualified for her refusal to answer most of the questions. Even on the rare occassions she did answer, he answers were rambling and incoherent.

If you're talking about poise and presidentiality, Biden won. He was calm, cool, collected, and palin looked like she was about to break down the entire time. Shaking, blinking rapidly, trembling voice, her entire face tense the whole time, she was terrified and it came across as such.

But if you're talking about the most references to Mooseknuckle AK, palin won.

Based on the simple act of answering questions, Biden did. He answered them in full, not hedging or avoiding, that I saw, any question.

I thought they both held there own. Do you think the Reagan line of "There you go again." was artfully used?

She did fantastic I thought, especially considering.... Whoever I think McCain will lose....I live in Manhattan so not to much McCain support around here.

Good point, hazy...........and it IS the undecided voters that really dictate who won and who lost. All of us here have decided.

And yeah.......in that sense maybe Palin won.

To me, personally, Biden won.........but my vote is not up for grabs.

Neither WON Jen, even Ferrior(?)spelling
by dadawg

said it's a tie, of course, she hates magic mulatto.......

Sarah did a HELL OF A JOB.................wish she'd been more vocal............esp when Biden said "bridge to nowhere" she should have ask if Biden still thinks Obama "a clean negro."..........

Damn these softball debates, gett-r-done, get down and real.........I have tired of these SOTU's where those that supposely 'hate' each other jump up and down and clap like trained zeals.....................

The biggest problem today, politicians are Car salesmen/women........FT!

Neither WON...........WE THE PEOPLE LOSE!

Re: That depends...

Those are the reasons I gave the win to Biden, Smiley.

But as Hazy points out.......... the real judges of win/ lose are those people who haven't decided who to vote for yet.

Re: Who won?

That's why I gave the win to Biden, Henna.
Re: Who won?

I thought she did fine....... I just think Biden did a little better.

I live in Oklahoma, so here.......... it's all McCain.

Sarah did a great job, Dawg.
by Jen01

After only 5 weeks on the campaign, she was able to hold her own with a man who has been around for over 30 years.

I agree with what Sarah said and I agree with McCain/ Palin more than I do with Obama/ Biden.

But I think Biden edged her out just a bit tonight.

And yeppers........ politicians are car salesmen/women. That's the fun of it.

Indeed? I appreciate the candor.

I think Palin lost it when she so blatantly avoided questions.
