Double down idiocy

Must be nice to collect a paycheck for writing such drivel. Of course it's typical of the 'analysis' we're subjected to from the out-of-touch MSM. McCain isn't drowning because he doesn't have enough money to buy ads. Or because he isn't getting his message out. Or any of the other typical political strategy reasons. Most voters don't question his patriotism. Or his character. Or his history. We don't question his commitment to his ideals or those of this country. We question his judgement. Nothing more. McCain is fading because he is wrong. Wrong about the reasons we went into this war. Wrong about the threat to this country. Wrong about how we should conduct ourselves as it winds down. Iraq was a mistake. A mistake in concept and execution. Most Americans recognize this now. Yet, McCain, and this author, continue to think it's merely a game of strategy and positioning.

The Iraq government is Shite and is not going to really include anybody and that has become obvious. We are employing Sunni's to the job the Shite government will not do. A mess upon a mess. When will it end.

Having been a POW doesn't make one "knowledgeable" about security issues. McCain, as most of the Senate, has been wrong about the Mid-East for 20 years. Dickerson, who generally knows better, should be sent to Fort Campbell, KY for a month. This column is not just drivel but drivel on stilts.

Yes, but "most americans" aren't the ones voting in Republican primaries. GOP primary voters are still mainly stuck in the deluded camp on the war, and believe the liberal media are giving US successes a bad write-up. The only plus that can distinguish McCain in the current field for these voters is being even more wrong on the war. Of course, the kicker here is that the one shot he has at winning the nomination virtually guarantees he'll lose the general election.

To me, the impression I get is that McCain, like GWB, is a "one trick pony" where they seem incapable of processing new information and adjusting policy to the new conditions. And look where that has led our Country!

The point with John McCain is he has lost his support of the independent voter and not a few democtrats. His prostituting himself with Bush and Jerry Falwell did the for him. His stunt in the Bagdad market place was the icing on the cake.

His inability to win Republicans with his stands on the war and immigration is just a continuation of his standing with hard core republicans- he never had it.

Now if you can analyze

and explain Leiberman's once certain demise.

Ooops...sorry to screw up good asinine spin.

Soitently!
by Trebuchet

You mean his demise as a Democrat? I think that was pretty self evident. Or do you mean that as a career Senator, his ability to just barely scrape out a victory against an unknown only because the Republicans had no viable candidate to vote for....well that is pretty self evident, don't you think?

I don't know anyone that thought Lieberman was going down, do you? Maybe the boyz at FAUX News, but who listens to them after the embarrassing Republican defeat in 06.

Maybe that is the asinine part of the analysis...
