As long as the Rethug party caters to the hateful they will not only survive but they will grow.

Hate Radio keeps them alive. By running on hot button issues like gay marriage, guns, family values, Mexican immigration, war on terror, abortion, affirmative action and similar issues the Rethugs have been able to create a base of ignorant hateful cowardly folks.

Racists, homophobes, Mexihaters, Jesus Freaks against abortion, war-mongers, gun nuts and rednecks are a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Not all Republicans are racists or Jesus Freaks or even Homophobes but most racists, homophobes and Jesus freaks are Republican.

Where does this sanctity come from? Why can we be called elitist 'til they're blue in the face? But we can't simply say that Republican's cater to the lowest common denominator. Every dumbass I know is a Republican (I also know very smart Republicans). But every narrow-minded or overly judgemental person I know is an F'ing Repub. What gives?

I know it didn't use to be like this, percentage wise. And, what really bugged me was, when and why was the Repub convention an F'ing hoedown? Talk about being an exclusive party. I wasn't aware one needed to be a cowboy to be a party member.

Total BS. Many Democratic politicians in the south were the most racist bastards of all time. Senator Byrd for example is one of these democrats in office still. Which Republican senators are or were members of the KKK? Now I’m sure there are some retarded racist dipshits out there that identify as republicans because they too buy into the same nonsense posted above. They, as you, think that republicans embrace racism but they don’t understand what the party stands for or what it was founded on (party of Lincoln). Another example: in the lab where I work all of the democrat members are in fact church goers. The four republicans (myself included) are atheists. Most young republicans I have met are also not religious.

No kidding. I watched the RNC, and saw clip after clip afterwards, panning from several camera angles...and I saw one Asian and one black guy in the crowd. Seriously, minorities can't be watching and saying..."That's the party that represents me!"...unless they're out of their minds...or happen to be that lone Asian or lone black guy.

You've got to be kidding. I watched both conventions. I saw lots of ethnic groups represented at the RNC. I saw a whole lot of white faces at the DNC too.

Another thing, I lived in many towns in California that were 30-40% hispanic and a lagre number of them were reg. republicans.

No, I'm sure there are. There's a very large constituency out there who will vote for McCain. I believed the same of the Democrats during the Tip O'Neal crony years. When a party abuses its power, sooner or later, it will fail and fall. That's the beauty of our system, however, I think we should have a greater voice in the matter when and as it is happening to fire the culprits perpetrating the crime or incompetence. Bush should have [never been elected-my opinion] been canned at the end of his first term but the party wanted to remain in control because their plans to rape and pillage the USA and Iraq have not come to fruition and now the Grand Old Party knows its tits in the wringer and there is no wiggle room.

Both parties must realize that once you are elected you represent ALL of the people in your city, town, county, state, district, country and you owe them a job based on the common sense and their faith in you. They are the employers and you work for all of them. Lately it seems like its been the other way around.
