Review makes me want to see it

Slate's reviewer is pretty much guaranteed to be wrong about everything, so her negative review is enticing. Hmm, where are those movie listings ... ?

Actually - I thought this was one of her better reviews. She actually reviewed the movie pretty straightforwardly - as opposed to making the review all about her.

I enjoyed the book, though I think the author has a bit of diminishing returns the more you read him, so I'll see the movie at some point, despite this review.

Instead of the review being about her she seemed to make a big deal right at the front about how this wouldn't be about her.

You really should see it. I saw it today and I can honestly say it was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. Not only funny, it's well done. Please don't let this pretentious "film critic" Dana Stevens sway you. I have this haunting feeling she loved Burn After Reading. Whatever...anyways, see this movie. Sam Rockwell is fabulous

You're being pretty harsh. I don't always agree with her reviews, but it's refreshing for a reviewer to explore what a movie is about in an allegorical sense.

Maybe it makes her reviews esoteric, but I enjoy them, even when I disagree (although I think she's bang-on about this one).
