McCain looks brilliant right now

He is the only one out of all the yammering yahoos who really seemed to grasp how important the vote would be. Obama looks like a petty schoold kid who wants to go to the dance. Who cares about the flipping debate. Have it next week or something.

You must not have any stocks, huh? You think I want to watch a pissing contest when all my equity in WM just got wiped off the earth.

No, right now Sen. John McCain looks like a self aggrandizing yahoo who has managed, with GWB's help and stage managing, to push the presidential campaign into the spotlight in the middle of a serious crisis.

Thereby de-railing any useful progress being made in Washington DC by people actually working to solve this issue.

Only John McCain could manage to irrationally over-react in a completely useless way..about a week too late.

This man is a 'tard.

You lefties love to throw around slurs like "tard"., "moron" etc. Must be why you are such fans of partial birth abortions. Got to rid the planet of all those tards.

The truth is McCain does not look brilliant. He is so desperate that he had to call Bush to help him out. Bush obliged and called both candidates to a "bipartisan meeting". But hey, recklessness is no strategy. Americans need good explanation on what both candidates want to do about the country, the economy and international issues. Not some bipartisan slime. McCain realizes he has nothing to say, so he tries to shut up his opponent by shutting up himself. It would be brilliant indeed if two things were true: if Obama had any intention to give him this favor and if the American voters were unable to see through this deception. It would be brilliant indeed, if it was not so transparently self-serving.

Yes, McCain has such great ideas for saving our economy that event the republicans in the meeting with bush yesterday have said that he was nearly silent as the conversation went on around him, and Obama was asking Paulson serious and indebt questions for possible sollutions.

After 'suspending' his campaign on Wednesday afternoon to immedialty deal with the crisis, he taped an interview, sent his surrogates out to do multiple interviews, and gave his stump speach at a forum on world economic matters. Finaly, 24 hours later he finaly made it to DC just in time for a collapse in negotiations. Yes, we are lucky he is there to save us.

Right now, Senator McCain reminds me of my current immediate superior. This officer was best described by a shipmate recently after a rare visit to one of our magical places where work actually happens. My comrade turned to me and said, "You know, he just kind of shows up randomly, shits all over everything and then disappears again. Ever notice that?"

That's about how McCain looks right now abandoning his campaign to charge into a process that seemed to be going quite well without him. The Civil War didn't stop the democratic process, but we get into a tight economic spot and the matter of succession can go to hell. Just weird. But then, what about this election hasn't been weird?

Yes, that's why McCain showed up at the 11th hour to screw things up - because he's brilliant. So where was he before that? He hasn't voted in the Senate since APRIL!

Right now, there's a pretty complex issue facing the country regarding our economy and financial markets.

There is a question of how we should proceed. Should we bailout these financial institutions? How should we proceed?

Most Americans are not fully aware of the details of the situation.

So, wouldn't it be a good idea for the two people that are being considered as next in line to inherit these problems, to stand up in front of the American people and discuss this issue?

Not only would it be an opportunity to educate the public, but we could make a more informed choice about who we want to lead, based on their positions on this issue.

I can't think of a better time and situation for a debate. This financial crisis is not necessarily an imminent danger like a bomb ticking, but it's also not a years long question like health care or energy, that doesn't lend itself toward quick action.

So, where's McCain?

You should have invested in another part of the world that is more stable than America. You should not trust one country and one government to take care of you finance. This is global economy tard :).

Wow, that otta help the USA. Lets all abandon investing here and put our money in Communist China. Great. BTW, my equity in WM was wiped out, in part due to the unrelenting media firestorm this election year which has caused a flat out panic state in this economy. There are only three markets in the country that had a decrease in housing prices last month, but you would think the entire country was sliding into doom. That is why the American peple are confused. It is all a cluster fuck fiasco and it is more than a little due to your boy Obama fomenting fear and anxiety inorder to win an election. He will do anything to win, including throw the USA economy under a bus. I think you probably agree with him, as you don't trust the government. So go ahead and take a short position and make a billion dollars, like many have already, thanks to the wonderful American press. That makes you a very smart person indeed.

Spoken like a man who has no idea what he's talking about.

If you think the media and Obama are responsible for the current financial situation in this country, you clearly aren't aware of what's going on.

This in particular: "It is all a cluster fuck fiasco and it is more than a little due to your boy Obama fomenting fear and anxiety inorder to win an election" appears to be a divorce from reality.

How exactly did Obama foment fear and anxiety?
