Absurd
by Torene
I find the document ridiculous. It doesn't have quotes nor does it have any supporting "scientific" evidence for the argument it makes. Along those lines, an alternate punishment for children isn't even suggested. I'm inclined to believe the information came from dubious sources. In the simplest terms... I have not been won over. No, I'm not an adult with children. I am an 18 yr-old. When I was little, I was spanked for misbehavior. I am not delinquent either, but no, I will not give all credit to my parents spanking me either.

no wonder you lack any sense.

I am not sure how this comment is productive. My advice for the young writter would be - check out the hotlinks in the article and the background of the author. There is nothing dubious about it - really just stays consistent with the scientific research that is out there.

This is just another one of those "I (we) know better than you how to raise your children" articles. Look, I'm all for throwing the book at child abusers. But if you are a busybody (and you know who you are) wanting to criminalize spanking, then I have to take exception. I resent the fact you think you can/must legislate your morality on me. What gives you the moral authority to do so? More pointedly, where do you get the gall to do so?
