This is a calculated move. There can not be any doubt. McCain would be far more useful not showing up. What we have here is John McCain's campaign calculating that enough registered voters will be stupid enough to fall for this. What scares me after eight years, after what I've witnessed in previous elections, they probably are enough stupid gullible registered voters.

I could be wrong, but I think that this was a huge mistake on McCain's part. People will see through this ploy and give the Republicans the drubbing they richly deserve.
