It's not sarcasm, it's pomposity...

What turns a lot of people off about Obama is his pompous, condesending attitude towards the voters.

His, "I know what's best for you" attitude is what bothers me. No to mention his class warfare programs. He claims to be a uniter, but, in acuality, it's socialism that he isn't afraid to hide.

At least McCain gives us the humble attitude that WE run the country, not government.

You know, I would do something about that inferiority complex of yours.

"At least McCain gives us the humble attitude that WE run the country, not government."

At least the "WE" that he doesn't hold in complete contempt.

Ain't that just what's wrong with them damn elitists? They're all pompous and condescending, actually think they know things. Not at all like McCain and Palin. Or Bush. They don't pretend to know things.

You can only trust them what don't know more than you.

I'm not sure where you get that. I find McCain to be insulting to my intelligence on almost every level.

He picked someone to run who is totally unqualified to be president, just because she's a woman. He thinks I'm so stupid and easy to manipulate that I'll vote for him just because I'm a woman too, and pay no attention to the fact that Sarah Palin is a book banning creationist who wants to take away a woman's right to choose, just to name a few issues.

He spent nearly 3 decades in Washington championing the deregulation movement, and was even part of the Keating Five in the late 80's. His chief economic advisor is Phil Gramm, who co-authored the bill to deregulate the financial industry, which is now collapsing and has pushed the US economy onto the precipice of another Great Depression. Now, all of a sudden, McCain thinks regulation is a great idea. He thinks I'm so stupid that I'll just conveniently forget all that and vote for him just because he pulled the word "regulation" out of his backside and started throwing it around 3 days ago.

He voted with Bush over 90% of the time, and yet insists that he's a change agent. So either he voted with Bush just to win over the GOP, not because he believed casting his vote with Bush was the right thing to do, which makes him unethical, or he has decided to turn his back on Bush in order to win the election even though he really did agree with him 90% of the time, which makes him untrustworthy. And yet he still thinks because he throws around the word "change" that I'm so stupid that I'll just forget all that and vote for him anyway.

And by the way, the GOP claims that Obama is a "dangerous socialist" are now completely and utterly moot since the Bush administration has socialized the mortgage industry and is now preparing to socialize Wall Street.

What specific effects of Gramm-Leach-Bliley do you believe are responsible for the present financial crisis?
Obama is a safe American, who wants to work hard for the U.S
by The Real Slim K
This is a silly argument, suitable for Halloween I guess. Obama is an adult who has said as much that he believes that John McCain would be a better president than George W. Bush. Most of us suspect that McCain would not confuse words as often, he wouldn't say "persecute" when he meant "prosecute." I and others just think that Obama would be a better president than McCain. All these name-calling things aside, Obama is no socialist. Isn't it embarrasing to have people posting things like that? Ask Nader, he's pretty mainstream in his governing philosophies. We the People and change you can believe in, those aren't socialist slogans necessarily. How about you guys ratchet down the name-calling just a little, watch the debates, paying special attention to what they say about national defense and rebuilding our economy, and accept that Obama may be the choice of a majority of Americans who after all know we need change from the last 8 years.
So what would you do...
by evensteven

let all the major banking firms go under? Therefore, throwing our economy into further recession?

It's a no win scenario for Bush. By the way, it was McCain that was calling for more regulation of the finance industry in 2005. Didn't hear much from the 1st year senator from Illinois on that one.

The keating five also included four democrats, including DeConcini who Clinton then appointed as Chairman of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. There's a great appointment, huh?

Every democrat that was on that investigation basically stated that McCain was thrown under the bus for his involvement.

Finally, democrats have nominated someone for PRESIDENT that is totally unquaified to be just that.

ALL? Even say, Reagan's ? Why? Your wide definition of socialism is mind-boggling, not-so-even Steven. Tell me you've been to Cuba lately and studied economics, or STFU, dunce-bag.
When he claims...

that 95% of americans will recieve a tax reduction. That's an outright lie. 20 to 25% of those supposed 95% are NOT paying taxes in the first place.

But, you'll never hear that will you!

Re: When he claims...
by The Real Slim K

20 to 25% of Americans don't pay any tax? You're kidding aren't you? EVEN if, for argument sake, we pretend that they don't file income taxes (some states like California have State income tax, too, so we will pretend harder in those states), are you saying that they don't pay gasoline taxes? Oh, they don't drive.? So they don't pay transit company taxes? They don't pay bond taxes, utility taxes, bridges, school, or property taxes? No liquor taxes, no food tax, no restaurant tax, no service tax, no pharmacy tax, no excise or entertainment taxes? no medical tax, personal gains tax? no luxury taxes?? no taxes of ANY kind?! How can that be, Even old boy?

A hole in the ground, your rear-end. Do you know the difference?

Re: When he claims...
by hawaiimike

So how much of a lie is it to say that Obama will raise your taxes as the McCain/Palin ticket claim every day? Are they talking about the 5% that they are working so hard for? or is it the top 1% that they are championing because they know how important it is to keep more money in the banks and trust funds of the ultra wealthy?

Wealth redistribution is regulation of greed. Its a great idea. Are you kidding? Keeping the riches with the rich? Is that your idea of how to keep a society healthy, connected and in harmony with each other?

Republicans fought hard for deregulation of the markets and they will fight hard to keep the ultra wealthy paying as little taxes as possible.

They will also fight hard to keep America in drawn out overseas conflicts to "win" at extremely high costs to tax payers.

Some people in our country don't give a fuck about the people who struggle amongst us. While millionaire crowd worry about whether or not they'll be able to afford to buy a BMW for their daughters sweet 16th, the middle class and poor are going into debt and living off of borrowed money.

If the most blessed America cares for the struggling, and hardest working Americans, they'd willingly share more of the burden to make it possible to make health insurance coverage a possibility.

A little socialism isn't evil. It could almost be considered compassionate. Social security is socialism my friends.

I've said it again and again, republicans believe in family values. The problem is that they're talking about their family's values.

Funny how tag words can get low IQ America whipped up into a frenzy. Not that funny actually. More sad then anything.

So you figure when Obama makes that statement about reducing taxes he's including gas taxes, state and local sales taxes, excise taxes, use taxes?

Or is he maybe, you know, referring to Federal income tax?

Is that like being a little pregnant?

You asswipes really get me going on this shit. The fact is our public schools keep churning out ignorant fools such as yourself, that believe that government is there to give you a free ride no matter how stupid you are. That's assuming that you graduated at all. Some 60% of kids in the LA unified school system drop out. So what's the democrat solution? No, we can't shit can the numbnut teachers, because of the unions, we'll just piss more money down that rathole.

Until parents have the ability to send their children to ANY school, via vouchers, we will continue to turn out ignorant, "i'm entitled", government sucking, fuckheads, like you!!!
