Impartial Investigation

Alaska State Senator and Obama supporter Hollis French says the McCain campaign failed to contact any of the Senators involved in the investigation during the vetting process of Gov. Palin.

"If they had done their job they never would have picked her," now they may have to deal with an October surprise."

I would call him a sick puke, but thats a waste of ink....he's just another democrat supporting Obama.

Hollis is not running the investigation. A retired state prosecutor is Stephen Branchflower, hired by a 14-0 bipartisan vote of the legislature.

Nice try, Boca-brain. Thanks for playing.

Steve Branchflower, the former Assistant D.A. hired to investigate Palin’s firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, has a personal ties to Mr. Monegan. Linda Branchflower, his wife, a retired detective for the Anchorage Police Department, was still on the force when Monegan became Chief in 2001. She heaped praise on him in a 2001 interview with the Anchorage Daily News.

"Monegan is a respected supervisor because he listens to his employees and isn't afraid to change course if something isn't working out", said detective Linda Branchflower.

"A lot of us see that as more courageous,'' she said.

"We've been a train on the wrong track going in the wrong direction for too long,'' Mrs.Branchflower said.

According to a recent profile in the Anchcorage Daily News, Investigator Branchflower himself has close ties to both the Anchorage Police Department, where Monegan rose through the ranks, as well as State Senator Hollis French. The Daily News noted that French is a “former prosecutor and colleague of Branchflower” and that Branchflower “asked for the job”.

Here's the deal...

With only 640,000 people in that state, all law enforcement people know, or know of, each other. Some level of conflict is inevitable with such a small pool to draw from.

However, this is an Alaska problem, not a national one. I fail to see why the McCain campaign is so involved at this early juncture. Possibly they see this as a threat; most people would not.

Imagine what a hell it would be for Sarah Palin if the DoJ were conducting the investigation. She might even now be headed for prison--or Monegan, for that matter.

What a hoot,,,so there's not another lawyer in Alaska who's wife didn't work for Monegan and who himself didn't work with Hollis French?

That's quite a stretch, even for someone delusional.
