Iraq is surrounded by Countries which some, if not all, are considered as US allies-except for one or two regimes that have always been hostile to US policies in the region; whereas in Afghanistan, besides the difficulties encountered on the hostile ground, USA has to deal with Iran once more and Pakistanis who, by nature of things, are supporters and obviously back up the Taliban’s struggle.
