They all fiddle while Rome burns

As we continue to suffer major shocks to our economy,President Bushy or either of the two major candidates semmto have the faintest clue what to to to bring about stabilization. The onset of a real problem, the economy coming abart shows how ineffectual and really bankrupt both presidential candidates are to lead us to any meaningful solution to our country's problem. Their backbitting and cant stump speeces are now not just annoying but downright insulting to thoughtful Americans. For Obama to be blase in such a situation is stupidity. While he may very well win the presidency it won't do him any good as he we'll preside over a bankrupt country. To over to give us another 1000 dollars apiece is a bribe we don't need. We need some serious answers to the problems we created for ourselves. While I have a fairly good idea of who is to blame for our president predicament, I wnt a leader to point the way to a workable solution not to oint blame.

The insane bail-out of failed financial institutions who recklessly played roulette with quasi-virtual exotic financial instruments is a total absurdity, it's money to the gutter, it's even more wasted than the futile war in Iraq, it doesn't create anything, it's precious resources that could be much more wisely used. Let's stop putting out yesterday fires and let the crooks fall belly-up as they fully deserve and let's focus on building the energy infrastructure of this country. A Marshall plan for the energy and the environment will cost far less than all the toxic bail-outs and create tens of millions of jobs, jump-start the economy, eliminate the US trade imbalance, and most importantly, give the US energy independence and help the US regain its technological edge and its world leadership. With energy independence and the economy back on track, everything else is possible: education, health care, etc.

Do you have any idea what the outright failure of many of these organizations would mean to the global economy?

Did you think of that when you were cheering for untrammeled access to world markets?

You don't know anything about me, babbling partisan ninny-- least of all what I do or do not "cheer for."
